Shapeshifting entity that particularly enjoys taking the form of humans. a Goatman. Mimics what you say?

Anyone know about these things??

Shapeshifting, as in "werewolf", "weregoat" or even "Werebeagle", etc... Is physiologically impossible...

Now, psycologically... that's another thing entirely...

The Goatman creepypasta is just that, a a creepypasta. There are actual legends about such an entity. Maryland has an urban legend about a Goatman living under a bridge, but that's all it seems to be. There are plenty of encounters with Pan that neo-Pagans claim to have had (one memorable call to Coast to Coast AM can be recalled.) Satyrs are goat-men, and Satan himself is supposed to look like that according to pagan tradition.

I don't remember reading that the goatman was a shapeshifter, as I recall it's a big old Bigfoot with Ram's horns and a more "woolly" fur.

I have seen a few shows about this creature and even have a book i will have to pull back out. If we are talking bout the sane one said to lure people to their deaths over the train tracks.

Personally I find goatman and another cryptid named sheepsquatch very entertaining. But alas that is all they are to me entertainment, I haven't seen any real evidence other than a few encounters.

But if I where to try give goat man any credence then my only theroy would be more of a supernatural entity. Such as a demon or spirit. Since this is all just a theory And assumptions I do not claim that's what he is or that he is real just giving another view of things.

Great post love something other than Bigfoot occasionally

What's the book you have? The train track Goatman is based in MD supposedly, right?

Actually the goat man I'm referring to is closer to my neck of the woods. He is supposedly located in kentucky, and is also referred to as the pope lick monster

Edit: sorry I have yet to relocate the book. But if I'm not mistaken it was either along the lines of Kentucky monsters or strange Kentucky.

Ok, I'm a little confused? Is the Goatman and the Sheepsquatch supposed to be the same creature or are they different?

(Yes, I know, but I had to ask.)

I apologize for any confusion more then happy to clear it up. Goatman and sheepsquatch are two different cryptids. Goatman that I am familiar with resembles a satyr and lures people to their deaths. Sheepsquatch is a supposed bigfoot like creature that has thick wool and the head of a ram/goat, and is said to be more aggressive.

So they are loosely similar in appearance but all in all two different creatures

A very "credible" source told me that hyraxes also shape-shift.

We have a local "ghost" story that some of my cousins used to tell me about. There's a local bridge, and there's stories about how a "Goatman" walks around the abandoned train tracks. It's said that it screams and whoever hears it commits suicide (the train tracks are on a very high bridge, over water). It's pretty creepy! I don't know if I believe it or not. Maybe I'll check it out for myself!

Goatman is a cool story, from Texas I believe, but it is nothing more than a story. A goat/human crossbreed just isn't possible.
