I didn't think this was meant to imply anything except that Obama is a clown. Is there a racist thing here.

I don't get it.

While I'm not personally in favor of publically promoting or insulting a president, I guess it is fair game. Bush took more than any I can remember.

I think the guy was just catering to the majority of the fans at a rodeo.

It's Mission Accomplished... Obviously you were never in the military - just as obviously it was too good a target for the clueless media at the time... Your other characterizations of him I will leave as it is IMO no more or less than many of the charcterization of other Presidents - based on the speakers political point of view...

Bush leads the pack in the past 40 years for killing American military personnel for no good reason, no appreciable gain, and still thinking "Jesus is the greatest philosopher in history." K, I didn't stereotype anyone. I said that dimbulbs, those in the 'Borat' film, and they were clearly in favor of America's 'superiority,' hated Borat (a fictional personage) when he sang an obvious send-off on the national anthem. I haven't said "ignorant hillbilly bumpkins" since I wrote that piece about my family reunion in Bugtussle, Tennessee. I didn't know you read that local paper.

It's one thing to blithely dismiss any malice aforethought with the Obama-slamming rodeo-clown, a state government sponsored disrespect of the President. It's another to cite non-existent episodes of the "same" thing (they never happened; Bush provided his own laugh track) to "balance" it all. But, after all, we are a nation out of balance. I like your 40 year time frame. Most people use time frames of 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 years etc., but you opted for 40 years. Why? Perhaps because a 50 year time frame would have led to JFK/LBJ as the leader of the pack. Classic use of cherry picking time spans. Well done.

All the manufactured outrage over this is freaking ridiculous. And yes, it is 150% manufactured. Does anyone really care? I mean really? Who cares what features the mask accentuates? A characature takes ones features and makes them comically emphasized. It's just a presidential mask. Good thing Point Break was made twenty years ago and not now. Imagine the outrage if they'd have robbed the bank in that movie wearing Obama masks instead of Regan and Nixon masks. Oh my god how racist to do such a thing implying that Obama is a bank robbing black criminal. Gasp, faint, cry. Lighten the hell up people. A president is a public, the most public, figure who not only CAN be ridiculed but took on the weight of being undoubtedly ridiculed no matter how he is thought of. It happens constantly and we all have the right to do it, even in state sponsored events. All these public apologies and firings and talk of embarrassment over this is absurd and are quite simply the only things to actually be embarrassed and apologetic about and if the pres had any measure of thick skin he would make a quick and brief statement asking everybody to stop with the nonsense and move on to real issues. Though we all know he doesn't want to deal with those either. He thinks real issues are phony.

Irony, R-Man? I'm not sure what you may mean by this. The irony with which I infuse much of my writing on political subjects is the obvious: People mocking, denigrating and demonizing our "Kenyan-Muslim Socialist Communist Fascist" current president while giving a pass to the Butcher of Baghdad and Avoider of Bin Laden who sold our economy to the bankers and defense industries before leaving office.
