Corporal Clegg Posted January 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Stop. Who would cross the Family Love Thread must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.. I am doing an assignment for English class and we must interview people and write a poem about family love. If you could answer these three questions for me, I could get view from a diverse selection of people. Thank you all so much for your time! - What is an experience you have had that is tied to family love? - How has this experience affected you? - What is your favorite instrumental song? (for background music of the poem) Thanks again for your time, and good day! Edited January 4, 2014 by Speaker of Floydese
AbyssWalker Posted January 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2014 I'll participate, 1. I remember when I was down in the dumps and living away and alone, my choice was either to quit college and go back or to keep persisting in what were really bad conditions. I was on the phone when My family said "Either we're coming there or you're coming here, if it's really that bad, forget about everything else, your well being and happiness comes first". I don't know why, but the fact that I was told this gave me lot of strength and I pushed on. 2. Well, I guess I know there's somebody for me no matter what happens 3. Alice in Chains - Whale and Wasp I don't know if my experience is really that special, but I shared.

(for background music of the poem) Thanks again for your time, and good day! I was homeless for a short while a few years ago and my oldest sister took me in and cared for me even though I was/am an alcoholic who brought the whole problem on myself. I disrupted and harmed my immediate and extended family by my actions and she would have been justified in saying no. She didn't and I survived the worst time in my life. THAT is love. The effect it had on me was to strengthen me and give me hope. It stopped a downward spiral that might have ended in much greater harm due to my suicide. THAT is the greatest effect of family love, imo. To help another when they need it most and to do so without thought of being rewarded. As for music, this is the loveliest instrumental piece I've ever heard. And the ladies are pretty easy on the eye as well!

Here is the part of the poem I wrote about your experience:We may feel scared when out away from home, From brothers, sisters, family and the like, The sadness in your head, a galling drone; The voices in your mind, a lasting fight. But have no fear, for comfort is at hand! Call home for consolation any time, For family love will help your soul to stand. And carry on your journey so divine.
