Allah, there is no God but He the Living the Eternal. no slumber can seize Him nor sleep

to Him belongs all that is In heavens and earth. who is there can intercede In His presence except what He permits

He knows what lies before them and what is after them. Nor shall they comprehend of his knowledge except as He wills

the preserving of them fatigues Him not and He is the most High and Glorious

If they are required to wear a burkah while running the 40 they don't stand a chance.

Well it's progress of a sorts. Though of course they'll put all sorts of restrictions on them and some of the crazies might target them when they come back home.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

you know there was a saying i love i can't recall who say it
it says : the people who prefer safty over freedom .. does not deserve neither .. something like that
it was also american figure i think

it reminds me of some people of my part of the world
who stood by the dictators under the claim that they were able to bring safty bah !

Some News articles addressing this, point out that "the participation of women athletes who can qualify for the games" will probably be zero Saudi Arabia women competitors. That's because girls there are discouraged from participating in sports, and there are no facilities for Saudi women to train.

Freedom is more than an edict.

Whoop-de-do...what next, 'Islamic Kingdom announces that it turns out that women are in fact human too'. That such a tiny step is applauded goes to show how backward the world is in turning a blind eye to this scar on the human race that runs that country...

Aye.. they might win a medal at sewing suicide vests.

Sorry I can't be cheerful about this victory for women, folks.  The Saudis are up to their knees in blood, imo.  Our blood.

Apologies for the negativity.

So are Christians and Catholics. They slaughtered thousands of women for being witches, the bible tells women to be silent, that man owns her. Christians/Catholics have waged wars for hundreds of years because of their beliefs. Why is it different for the Saudi people? they're only a few hundred years late. That's my blood on the popes hands, that's my blood on every church doorstep. I am FOR the equality of WOMEN. I don't give a damn about religion, every single one is blood drenched indoctrination. This is about women.
