Still Waters Posted December 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2009 Volume restrictions for MP3 players are set to be introduced by the European Union, it emerged today.Fears that listening to the portable music players at high volume could cause hearing damage has prompted the EU to act, according to BBC1's Politics Show. The EU plan to launch a consultation early next year with a final decision coming in the spring. Stephen Russell of the European consumer lobby ANEC told the Politics Show: 'There are up to 10million Europeans, mainly young people, who are at risk of losing their hearing permanently in the next five years due to their personal listening habits. When I first got them I nearly blew my ears out because I didn't reset my volume on my player, now I keep it at 2/3 volume and hear everything. I had a pair of sennheisers a while back, I nicked them off my brother for mine packed up (one earphone syndrome). They completely blow your face off, an absolute 'must get' on payday.
