50Y Solitary -Texas Aryan Brotherhood Kingpin

Paranormalcy

Recommended Posts

James Byrd, 45, one of the Lone Star State’s most notorious gang leaders as the boss of the Aryan Brotherhood, was sentenced to 50 "very hard years" confined to his cell for 23 hours a day in a state prison, Texas officials said Monday.

I also don't know why Texas of all places, didn't give him the death penalty.

I'm all for him being locked away, and removed from the ability to keep calling the shots for his gang, especially for this guy that stabbed someone in the FACE 37 tiems. But 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, for 50 YEARS?

He gets out ONE hour a day, for 50 years. Fifty hours - a smidge over two full 24 hour days, in fifty years. There is "making sure he never gets out/isn't able to continue his criminal ways", and then there is just cruel and inhumane, beyond any practical accounting - I cannot support something like this, to ANYONE. Kill him if you have to, it would be more humane - 50 years of solitary confinement - that's unconscionable, no matter who it is.

I agree, the sentence should have been 25 stabs in his swastika and 25 stabs in the Adolph Hitler tattoos
