A few years back (in the U.S.), there was a movie about a politician or maybe a businessman. I think he was being groomed for a particular career or role, and there was someone advising him. It was like his life was being planned for him. In the trailer on TV, he saw something through a door that he wasn't supposed to have seen. What was that movie? (It's not The Truman Show.)

It was looking like the Manchurian Candidate until the last bit.

What was the one where Gene Hackman was Prez or summat and raped or killed a lass (young lady)?

It was based on a book by David Balducci.
