Good Book?

Im trying to write a book thats about the end of the world and need some feedback on it. That will be the first book and if possible i could use some feedback on another book that im trying to write (also about end of the world.)

The 1st book takes place in the year 2040 and revolves around a group of old friends that have reunited for a week in Colorado Springs (there home town.) Meanwhile, an out of earth race of people (which look just like humans and dont look like they have huge eyes or tentacles etc.) make a threat to earth and all of its inhabitants saying that 10 days from that day everyone will be dead. Every Tv in america tunes in to the president saying that theres nothing that they can do anymore and declare mob rule all across america. This starts major riots and murders across america. The group of reuniting people are smart enough not to start rioting but not many others in america can say the same thing. They take in 3 scientists who tell them about a project (Project Origin) that was just completed in Washington. The project was to make a Space Ship large enough to take the brightest minds in America to a recently discovered planet (Arcadia) which was located just outside of our universe. It has an actual atmosphere and water and is just like a rejuvenated earth. The three scientists were the 3 major workers in the project know how to use it and offer to take the survivors and any other survivors they find to the distant planet where they pray that they will find a new life. After getting to wyoming the groups heres word that the race of people have implanted something into the ground which they later figure out from the race itself as a "tractor Beam" that will pull an Asteroid the size of Africa into our orbit which will hit earth so hard that earth will simply explode like a dying star. So the group has only a limited time to reach Project Origin before they all would die.

The 2nd book is kinda on the other side of my thoughts seeing as im focusing more on my first book.

Its about the fourhorsemen. the first hit in 2010, The second hit in 2018, The third in 2024, and the final one is on its way to the gates of hell which requires 4 keys to open. Mercenary goes on a quest to stop him in a now post-apocalyptic earth with a Miner, a Brewer, and an Oil Rig Worker.

Thats really all i've got on the 2nd book. Keep in mind im only 13 so it took me a while to think up everything. Thank You!

Interesting story ideas, especially when you say you are only 13.

The only thing I might suggest is to look into having your story copyrighted. That way another writer won't steal your ideas

and claim them as their own. Protect your intellectual property.

You sound very bright! One thing though, about pulling in the scientists. That sounds a little far fetched. How would they manage to grab three scientists during this event? Why woud they not grab any and every one they could to save? Maybe you could have it that in the group of ten meeting, three of them are scientists? Well just a thought... Good luck!

What a great idea for a book!

Maybe the 3 scientists are staying at the same hotel in Colorado Springs as the reuniting friends? Maybe the scientists, after completing such a large project, decided to go skiing?

Surely, the group would start out small, pick up stragglers along the way and grow large, but with the lawless panicked hordes attacking, who knows how many will actually make it to the ship in time?

I can't wait to read it!!!!

Honestly, the 2nd book sounds interesting as well, a miner, an oil rig worker, a brewer and a mercenary, stopping the 4th horseman, seems like a great idea for a book!

I agree with little_dreamer, it's probably a good idea to keep your ideas close, so that someone doesn't steal them.

Cool stories. Would be fun to read.

I know this is just a forum, but make sure your grammar is done correctly. It's VERY important...

Ask your English teacher and/or Guidance Counselor for a list of local writer's groups because either the person who runs the group or someone in the group will steer you in the right direction regarding 'intellectual property.' Publishers rarely accept unsolicited material; you'll need representation. However, I'm putting the cart before the horse, aren't I? For now, only allow those whom you absolutely trust read your text and be willing to consider your readers ideas concerning your story.

Write, rewrite, edit, and read your story as often as you can, until you're 'in love' with it!

Good idea, but can I just ask why the aliens wish to destroy the earth?

well im thinking of describing that in a future book because i might just discard book about the four horsemen.

You don't have to do a copyright, just email it to yourself to prove the date of conception and your fine. Good luck, it sounds very interesting.
