I'm no geologist, but even I could tell that virtually everything he said was ass-backwards and ridiculous. It was when he got to the part about geology making "assumptions" based on evolutionary biology (my field) that I had to officially label that man as brainwashed by the creationist organizations he clings to so adamantly. His very first claim in the video was that the dates of millions/billions of years don't contradict the biblical 6,000 year model; they do. He then goes on to spout falsities he picked up from ICR for several minutes, and then concludes that modern geological dating methods must be faulty, based on ICR's improper use and interpretations of rock dating. ICR's preposterous and disingenuous use of radiocarbon dating methods has been noted ad nauseam by geologists, etc., as being completely absurd and intentionally misleading. Again, I'm not a geologist, but I understand things well enough to know that the peer-review would be well aware, and would have corrected by now, any significant flaws in the dating methods. The only reason why some people (like ICR) can talk unstudied people into believing that there are such flaws is because they, again, disingenuously distribute misinformation and misuse the dating methods; misuse leads to absurd results. If a creationist had genuinely discovered a flaw in our dating methods as severe as is suggested by creationist propaganda, he would have received a Nobel Prize. No question. And the fact that this has not occurred leaves only one option for our pot-hatted friend and his creationist tutors: claim scientific conspiracy to cover up the "evidence" that they can't actually show us. The classic creationist escape tactic.
Incidentally, he forgot to mention that the potsherds and other Native American artifacts which were found in the Uinkaret lava fields were found at a layer within the flows which, yes, date to about a thousand years ago: the same time-frame in which a volcanic eruption occurred, burying said artifacts. Simple. He presumes (baselessly) that the lava flows must all be of the same age; they aren't. Eruptions and lava flows of various sorts have experienced in the area for a very long time. The dates he cites as being millions and billions of years old; well, let's just say that the only place I could find references to such far-out results were at ICR's archives. There doesn't seem to be any scientific mention of such.
