A Hungarian pensioner was dragged off his mobility scooter and mauled to death by a pair of killer donkeys.

Sandor Horvath, 65, was bitten and trampled on so much that when his body was found it was believed had been torn apart by wolves.

I always thought of donkeys as cute and lovable until a few years ago a friend lost a whole litter of Beagle pups (my HEART) to a donkey :(
The thing was in a field and they were playing and he stomped all 5 to death.  It was awful!!  I will never look on them the same again - now this....

Donkeys can be mean.  Some ranchers use them to guard their sheep from coyotes.

Never heard of them attacking someone like that though, wonder if it was a territory thing.

Another strange case: Donkey attacks and kills South Texas mayor

But according to Snopes.com, donkeys do not seem to cause more annual deaths than airplane crashes, due to a lack of donkey records.

I'm kind of afraid of horses and donkeys.  Don't have much experience with them.

I am another anonymous face in the crowd. I am just another tiny wheel in the machinery of the world I live in.

If you are afraid of them I think they can sense that.  I have horses but have always stayed away from them donkeys.  Have thought about a gated mule before.

That is awful, even more so to witness it.

As for this poor guy, I bet it was a very painful way to die. We tend to forget that animals are wild and have primal instincts.
