That really sucks... really, really sucks... I'm gonna go hug my kids now. (I'm not making light of this. I really want to hug my kids now.)

No, I know. :) I don't have children myself but I bet when these stories come up it just makes you want to keep your kids closer to you and be thankful they're safe right next to you.

Am hoping he was kidnapped by someone he knew and who wouldn't hurt him just so he's safe that way. Cannot see a 3 year old changing themselves, putting gloves on, and unlocking a front door, especially when I presume it was locked. Well, I hope so. And surely you'd hear noise. Kids aren't exactly ones for quiet.

I can't imagine how his parents must feel right now. Here's hoping he's found safe and sound. It would tear me up inside if someone I loved went missing.

I would really like to see how this ends. However, with this being British news & myself being a very forgetful American, I'm sure I'll forget to keep up.

Hope they find this child soon, alive and unharmed.

From the OP's article.

Efforts were made to speak to Mikaeel's father, who is understood to be of Pakistani origin.

Does this mean they haven't spoke to the father just made an effort to? I think they should make a real effort to talk to him.

I'm sure that's the first person they would investigate.

After creating this thread, I was talking to a friend about this and said I wouldn't be surprised if the parents are involved. What is wrong with people.

R.I.P. So sad.

Mother has not been arrested, she has been detained, still I think she was involved or with another person

  • Once the period of detention is over, the detainee must be released or arrested and charged

Sad to say, but the police have seen these situations on many occasions. I think i'm right in saying that one of the first things they'll do is take a few days (with a psychologist) to observe the parent(s) & assess whether or not they are a viable suspect. And in this case I suspect they made a decision fairly early on.

Three-year-old Mikaeel's body was found in woodland in Fife after his disappearance sparked a major search in Edinburgh.

The mother of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular will appear in an Edinburgh court this morning to face charges in connection with his death.

Rosdeep Kular, 33, reported that her son was missing from their home last Thursday morning.

Police found Mikaeel's body in an area of woodland in Kirkcaldy in neighbouring Fife late on Friday.

The discovery followed a major investigation after Mikaeel was reported missing from the home in Ferry Gait Crescent in the Scottish capital.

Police and local volunteers carried out an extensive search for the boy in north Edinburgh, often in bad weather and cold temperatures.

I have no doubt the little boy will rest in peace. As to his mother (if it was her) or whoever did this if it was not - I couldn't give two hoots if they never had a place to lay their weary head again - ever.

How could you like into that gorgeous smile and then do something like that?
