Still Waters Posted April 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Up to one million people have gathered at Vatican City for a historic day in the Roman Catholic Church as two former Popes were declared saints. The Canonisation of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII took place in the presence of two living pontiffs, Pope Francis and his predecessor Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI. The unprecedented double Canonisation was presided over by Francis in St Peter's Square and watched by millions around the world. https://uk.news.yaho...07.html#XkKf90c Videos - http://news.sky.com/story/1250186/two-popes-made-saints-in-historic-ceremony Edited April 27, 2014 by Still Waters Additional source link added
JJ50 Posted April 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2014 John 23rd was probably one of the best popes there has ever been, JP2 was charismatic but had his faults. I don't think anyone, however good, is worthy of sainthood.
