Seeing red? The mind-bending power of colour

Still Waters

Red makes us more attractive, blue more alert, while pink can sap a man's strength. Once dismissed as hippyish, the science of colour is finally being taken seriously.

Fascinating Still Waters,

i found this bit extra interesting:

This is the product of billions of years of evolution. Long before our ancestors had anything you’d call an eye, back when they were single-celled organisms, they had some basic light sensitivity, and would have been able – to some degree – to detect differences between long-wavelength and short-wavelength light. This would have allowed them to tell when it was daylight (blue light) and sunset (red light). Later, as lifeforms grew more complex, we developed more sophisticated techniques for more sophisticated purposes.

McDonald's (red and yellow), Taco Bell (purple and yellow), Wendy's (red and yellow), Burger King (orange and red), KFC (red and white). Do redddish colors and yellowish colors make people hungrier?

Jack in the Box, Rally's, Chick-Fil-A... Now that I started this, I can't stop coming up with examples.

Again people need such elaborate science to have a permission to connect to their own senses...

Your loss.
