Astral Seeker Posted December 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Odd thing happened last night, can someone help me ? I did a WBTB so I woke up at 4:30am, went to the bathroom and returned to bed to induce an AP (layed down on my back which is NOT my sleeping position and therefore is not very comfy for me). I felt my body become strange but the bad thing that occured is that at some point IT HURT to remain in that position which is not natural for me. As if there was a fight between my mind who wanted to sleep so bad and my body which couldnt rest in that non natural sleeping position. So it REALLY became painful and since it became unbearable I turned over to my natural sleeping position and ofc fell asleep Question : is that "fight" between my mind and my body something that on the contrary I should maintain in order to AP ? Because obviously remaning on my back prevents my mind from falling asleep so it could be something good, but on the other hand physically it really hurt so I dont know if this is a good thing for my body. Any help is welcomed, thanks
FlyingAngel Posted December 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2014 As I have experiences with AP before, the hurting part never occurred to me. So I guess your case is not normal. Try to find an "agreement" between your mind and your body. Try to find a comfortable sleeping position and be able to induce AP in that position. Do AP only when your mind is ready, ready "to be out of the shell" and to discover new things.
Astral Seeker Posted December 2, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 2, 2014 thanks a lot that's what I thought, it is not normal I never felt this way, it was HORRIBLE. My mind screamed out for sleep but couldnt because of the uncomfort. Someone told me it was a sign that I would need some (spiritual) healing. Dont know what to do with that claim tho
Silmiss Posted December 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2014 It's a myth that you have to sleep on your back to AP, and it doesn't matter if your hands are on your stomach. I'm pretty uncomfortable on my back, too; I prefer sleeping on my side. If your mind was screaming to go to bed, maybe you should project in the afternoon nap-time instead of the morning, that's when my body starts feeling tired but my mind wants to be active. Astral Seeker Posted December 2, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Yeah I know you can AP from any sleeping position (and even any position at all) but on my natural sleeping position (on my stomach) all start always good (I'm focused) but then and no matter how hard I try to remain focus, I always black out and fall asleep without seeing it coming. So while on my stomach is great to relax (too relaxed sigh !), I cant maintain enough awareness to AP. Reason why I thought about sticking with being on my back. It never was that painful before, it is really odd ! About afternoon naps, when people say they use that moment to AP do they mean upon awakening from an afternoon nap or while laying down to have the nap ? Thanks
Silmiss Posted December 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2014 About afternoon naps, when people say they use that moment to AP do they mean upon awakening from an afternoon nap or while laying down to have the nap ? You do it when you're lying down trying to have the nap. If you do it when you wake up, you'd already be too rested. One thing you could try is Lucid Dreaming. It's a ton easier than Astral Projecting, and when you Lucid Dream, you're actually astral projecting but in the Dream level of the Astral Plane. I hear you can exit the dream plane into the astral plane, but I'm not sure about that. One thing you could try is to lucid dream about astral projecting to get the feeling of it. Astral Seeker Posted December 2, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Oh, when trying to have a nap, got it, I will try Yeah I've already been lucid but for some reasons I have hard times with it as well. As about leaving dreamland to purely AP I did it using the following formula which worked like a charm : when founding myself lucidly aware in a dream I shouted "dream go away !". Everything melted and I found myself in my bedroom floating
White Crane Feather Posted December 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Hmm shouldn't be any pain. Definnantly change things up. Sometimes I have a very strange hard preassure at my root chakra it's very uncomfortable, but I wouldn't call it painfull. See if your pain corresponds with a chakra. I have never been much into that side of things but have to take notice that my disturbed flow is indeed my root. Mostly security issues inside of my personality. Learning to clear blocks like that in meditation might be very helpful. All my other chakras are considered over active at least by one tests standards. Might be something to look into. We are all different.
Astral Seeker Posted December 2, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted December 2, 2014 yeah I agree, something's wrong there, I still dont understand why it felt like hell like that. if pain comes back I'll try to locate it better to see if indeed it corresponds to a chackra (I wouldnt be surprised it concerns root chackra). As about using chackras to AP, I remember of a dude saying that his method consisted to focus on his crown chackra while relaxing. Since my crown chackra is very sensitive, it might worth a shot.
