Still Waters Posted March 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2013 An isolated population of Arabian Sea humpback whales may be less sophisticated "singers" than humpbacks elsewhere. The whales' calls could be a simplified version of humpback song, scientists' preliminary findings suggest. Arabian Sea humpbacks (Megaptera novaeangliae) are believed to have been isolated from other whale populations for around 60,000 years. http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/21592348
Commander CMG Posted March 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2013 Very informative/educational video.. That was all new infomation to me, I didn't know any of that! Amazing. Good post and wonderful creatures. How confused would the scientists be if they sounded like "Mongolian Throat singers".
