ObamaCare: What You're Not Being Told

When it comes to the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, a large percentage of the public is completely misinformed about what the law actually entails. Many of these misconceptions have been intentionally cultivated by political pundits from both the left and the right, and predictably people have latched on to the distortions which most closely fit into their world view. Let's remove all the party politics and set the record straight.

Fox News and Forbes Magazine made news last night. 93 Million Americans will lose their health care plan.

Obama knew back in June 2010. It's in the Federal Register on Page 34,552 !

It looks to me like its basically tax for a national health service. But by calling it insurance and not tax they think they are fooling everyone. Also what about Christian Scientists that would refuse to use medical care, do they still have to pay?

ObamaCare has been a big lie from the start.

Basically, all Obamacare is, is crony capitalism at its finest. The insurance companies wrote this bill, and they are the only ones who are going to profit from this mess.

Link: http://www.prisonplanet.com/insurance-giants-see-stocks-soar-on-launch-of-obamacare.html:

On the first day that new insurance exchanges were made available to Americans, companies like WellPoint Inc. and Molina Healthcare Inc. saw their stocks gain over 2.5%.

It’s unsurprising that large health insurance companies are enjoying the fruits of mandatory Obamacare regulations, since they helped write them in the first place.

WellPoint’s performance today will surely be celebrated by its former Vice President Liz Fowler,

who wrote the 87-page white paperthat was the foundation of Obamacare. After it was passed, Senator Max Baucus profusely thanked Fowler for being personally responsible for crafting the Affordable Health Care Act. Politico described her as a “major player” in getting the bill through Congress.

WellPoint Inc. is the nation’s second largest health insurer and is responsible for operating Blue Cross Blue Shield licenses.

Others companies like United Healthgroup Incorporated (America’s largest health insurance provider) and Cigna Corp also enjoyed spikes today in excess of 1.5%.

The gains all surpassed the Nasdaq’s overall daily rise of around 1%.

As we

previously documented, virtually all of the major health insurance companies have seen their stock prices continually climb since Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010.

Whether it's called Obamacare, Romeycare, or Hilarycare, it's the same darn thing.....Rockefellercare.....

Last Thursday, the public interest group Judicial Watch published a memorandum which the Clinton Library was forced to release under the Freedom of Information Act.

The 24-page memo shines a spotlight on Hillary’s little-known relationship with America’s mightiest oil and banking dynasty. Dated May 26, 1993 and addressed to “Hillary Rodham Clinton”, the memo comes from Senator John D. Rockefeller IV of West Virginia — better known as Jay Rockefeller — whose great-grandfather founded Standard Oil.

The memo lays out a detailed strategy for pushing the “Clinton reform plan” for universal health coverage. In it, Rockefeller snaps orders at Mrs. Clinton in the imperious tones of a man accustomed to obedience.

He instructs Hillary to get tough on critics of the health plan. “Impeach the credibility of opponents”, he writes. Portray them as “perpetrators”, “paid lobbyists” and purveyors of “ideological extremism”. Assign investigators to conduct “opposition research” on them and expose their “lifestyles”. Do not allow them “even one day without scrutiny”.

Regarding the need for a radio and TV advertising campaign,Rockefeller fumes, “Fundraising must begin immediately. I am frankly surprised that I have not been contacted or shown a plan for fundraising and media expenditures.”

Rockefeller plainly viewed Hillary as his subordinate, and the “Clinton reform plan” as his project. And no wonder. The plan we know as Hillarycare was originally Rockefeller’s idea.

As I’ve said many times before, past is prologue. Remember back in 1993 when Hillary Clinton attempted her government takeover of the nation’s healthcare system? She failed miserably. But in watching the Obama administration’s healthcare reform pressure campaign, it is clear that not only is Obama pushing Hillary-style government-run healthcare, he has also resorted to the same low-ball tactics used by Hillary in 1993.

In the last few months, the Obama administration refused to turn over a list of health industry officials who visited the White House, spread disinformation on his proposed plan and

mobilized a mob of minions to attack opponents of his healthcare plan under the ironic moniker "fight the smears."

Does any of this sound familiar to you? It does to me.

In July 2008, Judicial Watch released documents obtained from the Clinton Presidential Library related to Hillary Clinton’s healthcare campaign. Check out just a few examples:

  • A June 18, 1993, internal Memorandum entitled, "A Critique of Our Plan," authored by someone with the initials "P.S.," makes the startling admission that critics of Hillary’s health care reform plan were correct: "I can think of parallels in wartime, but I have trouble coming up with a precedent in our peacetime history for such broad and centralized control over a sector of the economy…Is the public really ready for this?… none of us knows whether we can make it work well or at all…" (Some guessed that the author of this memo is Paul Starr, who served as head of Hillary’s Health Care Task Force staff.)
  • A "Confidential" May 26, 1993, Memorandum from Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) to Hillary Clinton entitled, "Health Care Reform Communications," which criticizes the Task Force as a "secret cabal of Washington policy ‘wonks’" that has engaged in "choking off information" from the public regarding health care reform. The memorandum suggests that Hillary Clinton "use classic opposition research" to attack those who were excluded by the Clinton Administration from Task Force deliberations and to "expose lifestyles, tactics and motives of lobbyists" in order to deflect criticism. Senator Rockefeller also suggested news organizations "are anxious and willing to receive guidance [from the Clinton Administration] on how to time and shape their [news] coverage."
  • A February 5, 1993, Draft Memorandum from Alexis Herman and Mike Lux detailing the Office of Public Liaison’s plan for the health care reform campaign. The memorandum notes the development of an "interest group data base" detailing whether organizations "support(ed) us in the election." The database would also track personal information about interest group leaders, such as their home phone numbers, addresses, "biographies, analysis of credibility in the media, and known relationships with Congresspeople."

Lies, smears, and secrecy. All of these were hallmarks of Hillary Clinton’s efforts in 1993. Obama hired many a Clinton hack to work in his White House (such as Rahm Emanuel). So it is no surprise that the Clinton gang’s despicable tactics (some of which may be illegal) are being used by the Obama administration in their aggressive drive for socialized healthcare.

The more things "change" in Washington….

The more I read about this the more I am in disbelief that this is happening. It seems like something that organized criminals would do, almost like some sort of mob protection racket. No one has mentioned the cost of all the 'paper work' involved with setting everything up and monitoring it all. The government will spend millions just to enforce this insurance. There is literally nothing to stop the insurance companies raising their prices ever year. Of course it will be said that they will be closely monitored and that there will be no evidence of price fixing etc. But we already know its gonna be bull sh!t, juts look at the price fixing in medications, oil, gas, electric, internet, food etc.

It's day light robbery.....btw, if you look up the history behind the phrase "daylight robbery" you can see that it aptly, describes what is going on right now with Obamacare.

I bet these are the nurses you get with Obamacare....

How long do you think until they raise the 1% income 'fine'? I say 2 years and it'll go up by .5% ever couple of years until it settles at about 3%.

-EDIT-

I've just learned that they are actually increasing the fine each year anyway! 1% in 1st year, 2% in 2nd year and 2.5% thereafter.

Prices will be closely monitored but not fixed? Then what's the point? Of course this is price fixing. It's price fixing, market manipulating, health care screwing.

...how many Americans predicted some sort of civil war in the next 10 years? When that many people are broken, tired and hungry for long enough... :unsure2:

The only question is onto what demographic will they have us turn that aggression against?

Disobey. Maybe that is what we need to do.

This video is pretty cool.

I can't see the video for some reason but Do Not Comply has been my mantra. The IRS has no, none, zilch, zero legal ability to compel you to comply, as written into the law. They may not seize your assets or bank accounts and they may not file a lien and without a lien being filed they cannot report you to credit agencies. Let's face it, they're nothing more than a strong-armed goon there to scare people into complying. All they can do is steal the fine from your tax returns and hope that the self employed like myself will write that check for the fine. All 'regular' employees can really do is adjust their W-4 withholdings to zero and pay their taxes on their own that way they only pay what they owe and there is nothing for the thugs to steal. A hassle, I know, but that's life under big government.

I don't have the 'law' links but they're available if needed and certainly within a couple of threads here.

Hell, why should you? Paid just like to reiterate that health insurance is a good thing and I would like to have it BUT I'll get it when I'm damn well ready.

The thing is, unless you have cancer or some thing where you need to be hospitalized a lot, and expensive medications, and tons of doctor office visits, health insurance just doesn't make sense. A catastrophic plan, yes, that's fine. But a lot times it's just cheaper to pay doctors office visits, and medication out of your own pocket.

Reality is right there for you to see if you are willing to look. It is a failure and will die under its own weight. Most of the sign-ups are for Medicaid and soon the democrats will have to allow insurance to be grandfathered indefinitely or face teh wrath of millions of angry voters. A toothless, worthless piece of policy that will be defunded within the decade.
