Lawmakers/Aides try to get out of Obamacare

Like something straight out of Atlas Shrugged, the Senate and Congress and OBama administration are trying to carve out an exemption that shields them from the ravages of the disastrous Obamacare regulations that are just starting to hit with a vengeance. The Politico, of all places, reports that the llegislators are afraid the massive increases in costs would cause many staffers to abandon Washingtoon for greener pastures. The talks are very secretive because they are all aware of the probable backlash, regardless of the MSM's attempty top cover for them, whne voters find out.

So many of the people involved, and close to, the ones who forced this abomination through want no part in it? I guess they should have read what was in it before voting...

Edit: Then there's the Republicans who are salivating over the prospect that our lawmakers do get exempted. That would be a huge blow to everyone who hasn't actively opposed it.

“I have no problems with Congress being under the same guidelines,” Burr said. “I think if this is going to be a disaster — which I think it’s going to be — we ought to enjoy it together with our constituents.”

Boehner better figure oout how to let teh democrats hang themselves on their own It is amazing how little anger there is over this. Of course the MSM is covering for Reid and company but there is no way this will stay underground.

I boldly proclaime dthe same fate for the coverage of Benghazigate also... Fox is the only outlet that won't let it die. The rest of the government is just ignoring it. It's like there has been a coup in plain sight and no one gives a ****.

Nice. So they don't care if the middle clsss suffers from this legislation, or if small businesses are bankrupted, or if this drive healthcare costs higher than ever, but they worry about thier own asses and how it may effect thier political lifes? Great.

You know if it drops the "expected" yearly rate increases by even 1% the Liberals will call it a Ringing Good Success.

Like saying that Unemployment numbers are doing well when they drop from 9% to 8%. That is still not "Doing well". It is Doing Badly....

When Obamacare hits full bore in January 2014, it's going to destroy any chance of Democrat control of Congress come the fall - and it might even seal the fate of any Democrat presidential candidate in 2016.

I attended a dinner on Friday night in Boston with a number of very high level healthcare professionals and, regardless of political affiliation, they all agreed that Obamacare, fully implemented, is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Now they had differing views on how to fix the problems, but all agreed it was going to be bad.

No doubt but once it is implemented it will have gutted the HC industry and everyone will dependent on the government for healthcare so the siren's song will be vote for the democrat or the republicans will take your healthcare away. That was the plan all along as they knew this thing would be a disaster.

Only an idiot would think the government could possibly administer national healthcare efficiently. This was never about healthcare, it was about control. Control of people and control of the economy. I don't see a way of coming back from this, honestly, as he sheeple will fold and vote democrat to keep their healthcare. Possibly the states can do something but not syre what. We had our chance and blew it last November.

Interesting, since the Affordable Care Act does not provide healthcare. Thus you would be guilty of a complete lie.

Not sure where I said that but thanks for providing me with the perfect answer to my question "what kind of an idiot thinks the government could possibly administer national healthcare efficiently?"

I thought the ACA expanded who can qualify for Medicaid? Isn't that heathcare insurance? More people on Medicaid using looser standards equals ACA increasing goverment provided healthcare.

So, not a complete lie...?

According to the Health Insurance Association of America, Medicaid is defined as a “government insurance program for persons of all ages whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for health care. Medicaid is state-administered and financed by both the states and the federal government”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicaid

ObamaCare Medicaid Expansion is one of the biggest milestones in the health care bill. ObamaCare's Medicaid expansion expands Medicaid to our nations poorest in order cover nearly half of uninsured Americans.

The requirements of obamacare will force most insurance companies out of the healthcare business as policies will be far to expensive for anyone to buy. This was by design and alluded to by obama himself in a speech to the unions (I have posted that speech here before but don't have time to find now). Since you will be required to have insurance and the only insurance available is from the government we will have single payer healthcare.

Except this is all BS. It will not force ins companies out of business. It was NOT designed to do this. And Obamacare does NOT provide insurance because the REPUBLICANS would not allow a PUBLIC OPTION.

You guys are so deluded. And HEALTHCARE <> HEALTHCARE INSURANCE

Thank God they at least stopped that and please stop with the naive responses. Do you really still believe the BS that Obama and company put out when they pushed this through? Really? If you do I'll leave you be and you can post away but are you not the least bit worried that the Senator Baucus called this a "train wreck"? I am trying to understand what you are NJ? Are you an avowed socialist, a liar, a naive democrat that believes all he is told, what are you? What is your philosophy? Are you a union member and if so which one?

If medicaid = bills paid, it is directly competing with public health insurance. Obamacare = More Medicaid.

True, it is supposed to cover only those people who don't have any insurance, so technically it is not taking away insurance customers. But it is a step in that direction.

So a bit delusional, like a religious zealot. There is something more with this guy but I am sure he won't inform us. He'll just start asking stupid questions or posting ridiculous data that drains you of the will to live refuting. Why do they do this rather than debate facts? Well, we know why, because their stand is untenable, but why would an intelligent man see failure after failure of his political philosophy yet continue to defend and support it? Nothing liberalism has advanced has succeeded yet they defend it like a religious zealot. Why?

We'll never know, will we. NJ will never answer.with anything other than a change of argument. Is it cowardice? Fear of reality and an innate need to let the government run everything in their life because they are afraid of the real world? That is my guess for at least the college kids in a devastated America wih no chance of succeeding but NJ isn't a kid

In another thread I asked, "Why do minorities continue to support the Democrats?" And the Democrat/Progressive/Liberal answer is that because they believe that Republicans are out to ruin them. To put them down. To subjugate them. In other words... Because they have been brain washed.

Poverty is nearly the same as 100 years ago, and the mix of minoritys is still the same. The numbers of uneducated is also not changing. So... what have the Dems done for minorities lately?

Is Obamacare really going to lift minoritys out of poverty, or even provide them with better healthcare? What legislation by Obama, Democrate Presidents, or Congressional democrats has noticably improved the minority situation in the last 10 years? 25 years?

What "payout" have minoritys reaped for voting Democrat consistantly for decades? Still underemployed, still under educated, still higher percentage in poverty.

Hey Ninja, it hasn't escaped my notice that you have ignored the OP in this thread and not opined on Congress trying exempt themselves from Obamacare. Why? Are you a union member that got the same deal?

Perhaps the SEIU got him retired at 90% of salary or something.
