What was your first car?

Remember your first car you bought when you got your drivers license for the first time?

For me it's the car you never forget and the fun times you had with it along with your friends.

I had a 1968 Ford Fairlane. Two tone blue. Bought it off the mailman for 250.00 usd. back in 1979.

It was a clunker but it got me where I wanted to go. Good times.

My first car was a 1966 MGB GT, Teal Blue colour, paid 650 UK Sterling for it in 1977. I loved that car and I still remember its license number MPU 101D... that was back in the day and I wish I still owned it.

Not my actual car, but same year, colour, same spoked wheels... come back baby!!!

A red 62 Chevy 4 door Biscayne. My Dad bought it for me in 1970 for $250 .. for finishing high school. It became a motor home that very summer! :)

A red 1986 Ford Popular. I got it in 1991 and my husband promptly crashed it into a cow in Cornwall, wrote the car off and sadly the cow too :(

I will have to disagree with you on that, its what most teenage lads do when they get their first set of wheels, meet a girl, go for a drive and fool around.

Her name was "Sexy Sadie", the previous owner had named her that, but, I liked it, so she kept it!!! She was a white 1970 Chevy Chevelle, with a stock 350 engine. I really loved that car!!! Wish I never got rid of her!!!!

Yep it was a fab car ...it was my first 'long' drive from Liverpool to Cornwall too! Gutted!!

My next car was a 1989 Ford Sierra (blue) - my husband drove it to football one Sunday morning and it went on fire ...ie ...he was driving it and next thing there were flames licking up the windscreen ...he quickly parked and watched the flames melt all the paintwork to liquid and crack the windscreen into a gazillion pieces. The fire bobbies arrived to put out the fire whilst many folk looked on.

Turns out it was an electrical fault *shrugs* I know nothing about cars!

Maybe your hubby should get his own car since he seems to run into cows and set them on fire. :tu:

Mine's a ugly 1995 Maroon Honda Civic with the paint peeling. =/ No working AC anymore and the driver's side window no longer rolls down without popping out. But it gets me to where I need to go.

My first car was a Triumph TR10 here in the USA my dad bought me when I was 16. Was a great car for what it was, had loads of fun in it.

After a few months the trans went out, then dad bought me a Triumph TR 3. Even more fun, as you can imagine.

1972 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4 door hardtop. She was cream with intact wheel covers with baby blue velvet interior and an 8 track player, a 440 under the hood. She was a land boat for sure, got her for 500 bucks. Sadly, she blew a rod and died.

Edit: pulled a stock pic.... And it was the two door... tried pulling 4 different 4 door pics, all of them too big to upload. So yeah, really frigging big car, lol.

I would like to love all the previous comments, not just 'like' them!

Mine was a midnight blue 1968 Chrysler Newport Custom (440 c.i., 4-barrel with 4:11 gears). It only had 60,000 miles on it in 1979 when I bought it for $1,500. It got about 12 - 14 miles to the gallon. It was a six person land barge.

It was almost like we were separated at birth. Mine was a 4 door too! :)

In 1988 I bought a 1979 Ford Ranchero GT Red with gold trimming like this one. Now that was a car/truck I wish I would have kept. But it needed body work and the lifters stuck in the motor. At the time I didn't have the money to fix it up so I sold it to my cousin's husband.

My first car was a 1979 Camaro with a 305 v8 and a 4 speed. Was a pretty cool car for a 16 year old.

It wasn't until years after getting my license that I was able to afford a car (there were 7 of us kids.... no way dad was going to buy us each one)...

My first car - that I bought for $400 - was a dark maroon 1968 Pontiac GTO convertable.... man I loved that car!...

It looked just like this except for the color...

My first car, back in 1997...when I turned 18, was a 1990 Dodge Colt.

It was a junkie looking car with a strange odor to it, as the previous owner must have loved having his or her pets being in the car.

However, it ran well for a couple of years. It did it's job as being reliable, basic transportation.
