Well, if the moron greenies who have too much say in everything stopped yelling about white pointers being culled, maybe there wouldn't be so many deaths off WA.

Maybe you should research the food chain in the ocean, and see what effects what, and whom......

You are right though, if something ruins any chance of fun for us, kill it......

Ignorance is bliss.....

They tagged sharks along australias coast, and they found that sharks travel in and out of highly populated areas, daily, with no attacks at all.
The usual suspects for human attacks are great whites, tigers, and bull sharks.
Given the actual rarity of the attacks, you have to wonder why they've gone out of their usual feeding pattern.
We are killing some shark species into extinction ,so its a sad event, but its akin to going into the jungle and being attacked by a lion or tiger, who we are also killing into extinction.
These animals are all having their ecosystems destroyed, again,by us,so if they cannot feed in their usual places,or something smells wrong,or its just blind instinct,It's life .

When I heard it on the radio that he got munch.. my thought was.. 'well the idiot did go out when there was a great white on the prowl'

yeah if your wondering.. I'm from perth :)

Wow, what did they think of? It doesn't look like lot of fun to me, going to the water with big white shark below me. That's "terrific thinking" at its finest.

When someone is executed by decapitation it has been proved that the head remains conscious for about 8 seconds after the act.  I should imagine that when a person is bitten in two by a shark the head remains conscious and the eyes continue to see for at least 20 seconds. Gruesome thought!

I wonder If he thought in that moment oh god what did I do probably not

Killing the shark is WRONG I dont care if it did take a bite out of a human that said human should have known the risks of  what he was doing... Besides Im pretty sure sharks have been here way longer then mankind has...

You're absolutely right about this. First sharks lived 420 milion years ago.

This is my area, all the shark attacks have been at beaches i've been to often. My whole life i've gone to the beach, swam, surfed and I have never seen a shark.

Considering the millions of people that goto the beach each year and only five attacks, it's not like it's a major thing. A lot more people will die in a car crash on their way to the beach per year.

And yes we know they are out there, considering how unlikely a shark attacks are it's not something to worry over every time you go in the ocean. If shark attacks happened every time people went in the ocean then it would be a different situation.

By the way that article about them culling sharks is garbage. It will never happen, it's the sharks environment, not ours. If the problem did get out of hand than they would most likely setup the shark nets again.

Confucius Says:

Man who runs behind car gets exhausted.

Man who wants pretty nurse must be patient.

  • I can see it in their eyes, they've already died.

All the surfers there that day were well aware there was a shark in the water, they had even given it a nickname, Brutus. When you live on the WA coast you know exactly what is out there. You can't stop someone doing something they are passionate about just because there is a chance you could be killed by a shark. When you consider how many people actually swim and surf on our coastline compared with the amount of shark attacks, just like DKO said, its not really common.

I, however, choose not to swim in the ocean.

Too sad. He looked like a nice guy. I have a very short wmv (907kb) which is quite shocking to watch of some killer wales in action. My uncle sent it to me and now I keep it on my ereader just for fun. Not for the faint of heart!

I agree though that hunting it down just because is not a good enough reason.

How come no one called for hunting dolphin when they killed a woman a in NZ in 2009? That was genuinely unprovoked.
