THE spectre of bankruptcy is haunting Scotland’s leading group of ghost-hunters .

And their boss reckons they’re in trouble because the public don’t believe in spooks and spirits any more.

Membership of the Scottish Society for Psychical Research, set up as a “fire brigade” for people having trouble with ghosts, has dwindled from more than 200 to just 50.

Err no Nick, its nothing to do with more sceptical or more cynical, its to do with no evidence / proof after all this time and money. :whistle:

They get about 40 calls a year about hauntings, and he claims “a handful” involve real spirits.

In other cases, the society offer reassurance or counselling, “or in some cases referrals to medical professionals”.

Very interesting, and yeah I'd like to know the hard percentages too. And yes, I think there's a sort of hurt, victimized tone with the "people are becoming more skeptical and so we're losing money", instead of "people are becoming more rational and requiring actual evidence or repeatable examples". Evil science at work again.
