Glowing image over baby crib - video

Hello, I'm new here on this site. I have a video that was taken by my coworker. His granddaughter was sleeping in her crib and her grandparents were viewing the baby monitor in the kitchen. They noticed a glowing image hovering over the crib. I am posting this video for them. We are not sure what the image is but you can see through it and it seems to move around. Toward the end of the video, you can see my friend picking up the baby and the image seems to move toward them. It looks to me like the spirit of a baby or maybe a dog. At times it appears at times to have legs extending forward. Anyway, I'd like to share the video for forum feedback.

Looks to me like light, possibly from a window, and a slight breeze causing it to move..or something in front of the camera. It stays in the same pattern, so something natural IMO

My opinion is similar to Vlawde's comment.

Reflection of an item with glowing light, either near or against the window. It moved a few times from possibly some breeze, it retains the same shape throughout the video.

I strongly doubt it's anything Paranormal.

For some reason flashlight came to mind. Maybe because that's the way it looks to me.

Reflection of light coming in through a window ? Could be something that's hanging outside reflected by light or possibly curtains ?

I'm guessing the baby monitor has IR LEDs? Could be a reflection of the light from, say a picture frame or possibly a mobile over the cot, moving in the breeze?

I'd highly doubt its anything supernatural.

Thank you Saru. I am one of the many that hope that there is a life after death. I would love to think that when we pass that our spirit goes to a place where we can communicate with the living. I live in an older home built in 1870 and I have seen and heard things that are unexplained. When my co worker told me of his experience I was quick to ask to see the video. I was't sure what it was but I did't want to be quick to debunk the video. I promised to post it and get feedback from a forum that knew more and had more experience with the paranormal world. When "you know who" implied that I was possibly faking the video or trying to pass it off as paranormal to trick people, I had to respond. Thats just my nature. I apologize to the group but it was just my reaction to someone who just got under my skin. Was it a ghost? possibly not but again, who really knows what a ghost looks like or how they behave? I'm sure some have had pretty amazing experiences. I've had some myself but sometimes our mind can play tricks on us because we just want to believe in an afterlife.

Davidnyc, will there be any follow up, eg perhaps a wide angle still picture of the room taken from the other direction? Is there any more information about the sequence of events and what happened before (eg has that camera been in use for a long period or just installed) and since?

I viewed your video again, because I didn't get a chance to watch near the end of the clip, yesterday.

I don't think it's a reflection from a glowing light, near or dangling above a window.

There seemed to be a slight reflection on the crib, on the child and mother, from the glowing light.

Near the end of the clip, movements of the glowing light change in a strange/odd manner, it comes back into view and moves right, almost out of view and back a couple of times.

I am not sure what that glowing light could be, what is it from, at the moment.

Hey ChrLzs, no worries, I apologize as well. We've all had mornings like that, so I can understand.

Ok, lets start over. I work with someone who is far from a person that would fake something like this. I happen to live in a Victorian house built in 1870 and I have had several experiences of my own. Books falling off shelves more than once, Smoky swirling images that dissipated, that one freaked me out because I actually saw it. My wife saw my reaction when it appeared and to this day I can swear I saw it. My wife and I both saw a shadow going in and out of our daughters room. Anyway, these experiences go on and on. I was sharing these stories with my co worker and he said to me, "well this may interest you" and he went on to tell me about the video. He's a much older guy and hardly knows much about technology which explains his poor videography. I would have shut the light in the kitchen to remove the glare. Anyway, I've watched it several times and as much as I want to believe its paranormal, I also have my doubts. I'm a huge fan of TAPS and other shows and my first reaction is to try and debunk the image but my friend and I live far from each other, so I'm unable to do that. I was raised on believing in the paranormal, life on other planets etc. This video is authentic and I know the skeptics are out there. I can tell you this much, my friend doesn't want to tell his daughter, the mother of the baby because he fears that she won't bring the baby back. I agree with ChrLzs on his original comment about leaving the baby in the in the first place. I guess he realized it eventually and went in there and picked her up. Hey, if it's a spirit, then how cool is this? If it isn't, well how would we ever know?

My friend said that there is a small night light in the room and thats it. The monitor appears to give a infrared affect, at least thats how it looks on the video. Almost like night vision. I actually feel like contacting the makers of the baby cam to see if they can explain this. Maybe they have experienced this from other people who have bought this particular camera. Thats as much as I know. I have the actual video clips from his phone but the files are large, so i would have to send them via dropbox or a similar site.

I doubt a night light would be moving, especially the way it did near to the end of video clip.

Yes, there is a slight night vision effect, as with many other baby monitors depending on the brand, make or model.

Is it possible for you to upload the original video clips on youtube?, it may somewhat help to figure out what that glowing light could be, David.

The video on youtube is the actual video just pieced together in iMovie. There are no effects but maybe it's compressed during the processing. Even so, there is really difference that I noticed but let me try again and load them individually. I'll have to try later. Unless you mean the video from their cam? I want to understand this correctly, the video you uploaded yesterday on youtube, was a recording of a screen of a baby cam monitor?

Who actually recorded of a screen?.

I am guessing either the grandparents started recording once they noticed the glowing light near the crib? or someone was playing back the original recording from baby cam monitor, and recorded of screen using a cell/mobile phone?

Hudds, my friend took the video off his iPhone and copied the 4 sep videos to his desktop. I took those videos and dropped them into iMovie to piece them together. I uploaded that video to youtube. I doubt they have a recording off the baby monitor. Again, I'm not sure that cam even records. I also wish they had a better quality video. All I can say is that I'm just happy they at least had something to look at. As he explained it to me is that they were looking at the monitor in his kitchen. He noticed the weird glow and just decided to take a video of it. The more I look at it, the more I notice that the shape stays the same and only moves towards the end. I almost want to say it was something on the cam but I can't be sure.

Yes, they recorded off the screen with a cell phone. I don't think the baby cam records, it's just on to be viewed from another room.

A couple of added comments..

Generally, with night vision cameras that have InfraRed LEDs as a light source, the output from them is rather limited and will only illuminate the area out to a few meters. The reflections of light on the crib area seem rather bright to be reflected IR light, but without knowing the camera, nor whatever might have been nearby (eg a mobile with very shiny hanging bits), nor how the footage was 'enhanced'.. it's quite difficult to guess.

The nature of the movement of the light seems odd also - if it *was* reflected off a mobile, I'd guess the mobile was being blown around by wind or a fan. But it just doesn't seem 'right' to me - too much reflections for what I'm guessing as the light source/s. I suspect there may be more (or less ) to this...

As you concede, the story seems a bit odd as well... I hope they are willing to help investigate it, eg by showing you/us what the room looks like when photographed from the other direction and showing the camera location, and also providing more (and hopefully *better*) footage of 'normal' conditions or any other similar events. If they aren't.. then perhaps they aren't seriously looking for an answer, and that leaves us with nothing much we can investigate.

Do you have an idea why did they decide to record? rather than rushing to their grandchild like grandparents usually would as they would panic, straight after seeing a strange odd glowing light. I find it difficult to understand, why would they just calmly record instead. Until after a couple of minutes or so, someone rushed and got the child out.

Hudds, I'm not sure why they recorded and then decided to go in. I can't really speak for them. My only guess is that they did't feel it was anything paranormal at first but when they felt that maybe it could be is when they went in and got the baby. As I mentioned on my earlier comments, I also have had experiences in my house and not just a couple. I have seen shadows, heard foot steps when I knew for a fact that I was the only person in the house. When my son was 2 or 3, he walked out of his room and asked "Where did the lady go?" On two separate occasions, I walked into my kids room and books fell off the shelf. I tested out the possibility that the books were kind of hanging off and the vibration of me walking in caused them to fall but it happened again later that day. That one threw me for a loop but never did we feel threatened or felt that we should move out. Maybe my friend felt the same. I'll ask him tomorrow when I see him and also fill him in on all the comments and questions. I know that people especially those who are skeptical will look at the video trying to either de bunk it as fake or non paranormal. Thats totally fine. It's most likely nothing but again, what if it is something? Thats why the name of this site is perfect because this image is unexplainable.

Xanadu, I'm totally fine with the believers and doubters. I've been a believer my whole life. It's just the way I was brought up. My father is very spiritual and has always believed in reincarnation. We used to sit in the dark with my tape recorder and try to contact spirits. We did record a growling sound but not sure if one of my brothers tried to prank us. He read a book to me when I was around 9 or 10 and it was titled "Children of the Supernatural". In fact I did a book report on it in elementary school. While everyone was doing reports on Huckelberry Finn and children type books, I come in with a book about the supernatural. Yes, my parents were called to make sure I was ok. I laugh about it now but to me it's all possible and believable. Yes, I got permission to post the video and his story. i do have an update. This occurred in the day with the shades closed. There wasn't a night light in the room as I first thought. It hasn't happened again since that day the video was taken. The bedroom was in the back of the house which makes it even more unlikely that there was lights from outside coming in. Keep in mind that I also think it may have been lint on the lens but there's no way of knowing. I would never get upset or have my feelings hurt because it wasn't my own experience, so I'm going by what was told and shown to me. Not sure my friend will want to join in, but he did however read all the comments. All that I can say is this, the video is interesting and hard to debunk but thats what I like about it. It's a mystery plain and simple.
