Google Maps launches 'Pac-Man' mode

Happy April Fools Day! It's technically not April 1 yet in the United States, but it's time to start pranking in other parts of the world and Google is already getting in on the fun.

Google Maps now has a "Pac-Man" mode, allowing users to play the classic arcade game on any map. Seriously -- go to maps.google.com and type in any city or address, and then click on the Pac-Man icon at the bottom left of the screen.

For example, choosing "Syracuse, N.Y." turns the Syracuse University campus into an 8-bit video game with ghosts in the Standart parking lot area, waiting to chase the pellet-eating hero. Users can play by inserting coins clicking arrow keys left, right, up and down or using their mouse (mice?) to click directions to move in.

Neat, I'll have to give it a try but like many of you I'll have to go someplace besides where I live to play, not many roads.
