+susieice Posted July 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2014 Looks like a beautiful place! Don't really believe the "spirits" angle but the murders of yacht sailors could happen anywhere, and has. Anyone know anymore about this island? http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2014/07/the-cursed-paradise-of-palmyra-atoll/

little_dreamer Posted July 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2014 The murder mystery of the two couples was detailed in the book "And the Sea Will Tell" by Vincent Bugliosi. I started reading this and will probably start again (it's a very long book). http://www.amazon.com/And-Will-Tell-Vincent-Bugliosi/dp/0393327965
+susieice Posted July 15, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Bugliosi is actually a pretty good writer and a good investigator. I'll have to check into that book. Anyone think there's something behind this "curse"? Edited July 15, 2014 by susieice
Rafterman Posted July 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Funny how they don't mention that there are routinely between 4-20 researchers, scientists, and Nature Conservancy staff members there on a regular basis. They even have permanent facilities built for them. ooooh, spoookkkyyyyyy.

Princess Serenity Posted July 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2014 You know it has a "Bermuda Triangle" vibe to it.
Erowin Posted July 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Being surrounded by reef, its no surprise so many ships are wrecked or 'disappear' around there. It also explains the sharks- where there are reefs, there are lots of fish. Where there are lots of fish, there are sharks. And seeing as how the island was full of weirdos squatting on it, its no surprise that woman was killed. You don't live on some little island full of squatters 'escaping society' without some risk that some are a bit weird in the head.

+Hammerclaw Posted August 2, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Typical haunted house story, only it's an Island, instead.
