chala Posted June 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Please let me know if this topicis in the wrong section. I just wasn't sure where it might fit in. Anyway, more course work on myth and legends and I'm trying to find any info I can on King Charles I being a changeling and I'm really struggling. I need as much info as possible, even if it's not all that believable as there is a whole question on this at the end of the section. Websites, books anything you may know of that could help me out. So grateful for any help people may be able to give and thanks in advance.

Ealdwita Posted June 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2012 I can't think of anything like that regarding Charles I, but there's a quite well-known legend like that concerning Elizabeth I.

chala Posted June 7, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Thanks everyone for trying. At least I know I'm not the only one struggling to find anything on this. The book mentioned by rashore is the only thing I found. Typical of my course provider to ask a question about something with so little info avaliable. I'll have to look into the Elizabeth I legend though. Thanks for that.

Ealdwita Posted June 7, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Well according to this book: http://books.google....ngeling&f=false Lewis Spence is supposed to have told an account of Charles being a changeling. I learn something new everyday- Didn't even know Charles was supposed to be a changeling till about 20 minutes ago Ah yes, Mr.Spence. I'd forgotten about him! His excellent and entertaining style of writing was matched only by his vivid imagination! I must admit, I hadn't come across the Charles I story. The story about Elizabeth I isn't anything supernatural but makes an interesting story, (to me ,anyway!) http://www.elizabethfiles.com/the-bisley-boy/3255/ If you need any more info, I can dig out my own files on this.
