The mystery of Oak island

We heard from our chums over at the Friends of Oak Island Society that treasure hunting has officially resumed on Oak Island. Exploratory drilling has been taking place, so fingers crossed Oak Island Tours Inc are able to make some headway in the treasure hunt before the harsh winter weather sets in. Where would you choose to dig on the island?

They have decided to start digging again? With gold prices being what they are, I don't blame them. :w00t:

Wasn't the Money Pit at the far Eastern end of the island? That is where I would dig. But I would not just dig a hole. I would get tractors in there and tear down the island a football feild sized section at a time. I'd ask for archeologists and other specialists to vollenteer to be on hand, but I would not pay for them to be there. Why try to figure an exact spot when the technology exists to strip mine the island. Then build cofferdams around the area if/when it starts to flood.

We were just talking about this a few weeks ago : :w00t:

It would be nice to think they will find something but from research and listening to peoples comment here at UM , I really don't think that they will find anything , not to say that there wasn't something there to start but after all the diggings , drilling and even explosives that have been used there , it may be lost forever .

Fingers crossed they may find Boony's missing left sock he has been searching for....

I remember hearing about this before... I thought it one of those forever given up type of mysteries, lol.

I dunno what they find... but I hope it's worth as much to the person that finds stuff as it must have been to the person that took the time to bury so well :)

I think it's interesting that the island has oak trees and none of the other islands do. Could someone corroborate that??

I would assume that that bit of info is BS but, maybe not.

Maybe they will find Sinclair's missing treasure, The Holy Grail! It's laughable but, very entertaining!

I was just watching a special on History last night about the Holy Grail in America. Supposedly, they've found all these runes that depict that William Sinclair traveled west to find Nova Scotia. While making peace with the indigenous people of that region. Some crack-pot theorist came up with something saying that Sinclair created Oak Island and planted all the Oak Trees so, that he (or others) could find the Island at a later time. It was quite a fascinating story. Just makes you wonder why so many peole have dug at that site. Maybe they've found what was there and we will never know!!
