A girl I work with jayne told us a short funny story about a guy who worked in a factory near her home....
He was operating a machine (timber saw) it suddenely jammed on him..the top of his thumb was cut off.....blood everywhere!!!
He ran over to his boss...showed him his thumb....his boss told him to hop in the car and he would take him to the ER room in the hospital..
On the way out..the same guy..stood on a rusty nail..it went straight through his foot...so he ended up hopping over to his bosses car
so he did hop into his bosses car LITERALLY!! 
On the way to the hospital..guess what happened next??? The car ran out of Petrol/gas and as they where 500 odd yards from the hospital he had to get out of the car and hop the rest of the way..LOL with the blood still gushing from his thumb and his foot!!! Poor sod lol
When he reached the hospital...he fainted in front of the nurse......later after he got out..he went to sue his boss for what happened...his lawyer got back to him..telling him his boss was bankrupt and he couldnt get a penny for it 
OMG the poor guy....maybe he needs another lawyer eh??
Once again that is what I call rotten luck and one heck of a bad day

BIG TIME...its your bosses job to make sure the workers are working in a safe enviorment...the machine was reported faulty the boss did nothing about it...the guy didnt want to use it...the boss told him it was ok to use it the machine was fine...it wasnt fine if it jammmed like that and cut the top off his thumb...as for the rusty nail..again all down to the boss...his job to make sure nothing was laying around like that...if a customer had of stood on it..they would have sued
