The name of the topic is "Does hell exist", this topic belongs in the spirituality vs skepticism board.
I almost agree - almost.
Here's the thing. The gist of the debate is not about whether or not a skeptic believes in hell,
we already know the answer to that question. It is more a debate between believers as to whether hell as a part of their particular denominations dogma or faith system is a useful part of their spiritual journey aka; "all the non-believers are going to hell" - how does that kind of mindset assist a believer? To me it brings fear rather than insight into the forefront of the minds of those that entertain such notions and play them out in the way they view the world.

"I warn you, whoever you are, oh you who wish to probe the arcanes of nature, if you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither shall you find it outside.
If you ignore the excellencies of your own house, how do you intend to find other excellencies?
In you is hidden the treasure of treasures, Oh man, know thyself and you shall know the Universe and the Gods."
