Loss of a friend

The loss of a friend, who is like a brother,
or sister, is perhaps one of the most painful events
in ones life.  It can never be anticipated, for
denial in the contingency of life is hard to
bear, yet there it is, friends die, other brothers,
and yes sisters.

I don’t know how to handle it well, but healing
comes, though the inner loss is forever as
long as I live in this world.  Perhaps we
all collect these losses, yet we move on,
healing happens no matter how slowly.

Yet I have no regrets for my losses,
for the depth of relationships and love
is worth the loss and mourning,
for without them, is there life at all?

I'm so sorry Mark for your loss :(

The older we get, you'd think we'd get used to losing those we love, but of course it doesn't work that way. Each loss is raw and painful to cope with and when the loss is sudden, you feel like your world has just fallen apart.

Yet I have no regrets for my losses,
for the depth of relationships and love
is worth the loss and mourning,
for without them, is there life at all?

I know how you feel. Even with the pain of losing family they're still loved, and very much a part of my life.... even though it can only be in my heart.

Thank you my friend, very, very much.
