lol. Well, he CLAIMS that members of the crew got so scared by some stuff happening on set that they dropped what they were doing and left. Apparently, they lost their first DP for that reason.

I'll most likely NOT go see this movie when my bday rolls around. Hopefully there will be a good sci-fi movie around at that time!

One major reason that expecting particular dates to have any meaning other than a change of calendar, is that our calendar has changed several times over the centuries...

Before the Gregorian calendar that we use today (which is not used everywhere by the way), there was a calendar based on the reign of the Emperor Diocletian, before that the Julian Calendar, before that ...

And then consider that the Gregorian Calendar doesn't even have a year 0... It goes from -1 (1 BC) to +1 (1 AD)... so 2011 (AD) should technically be 2010 (AD)...
And the Gregorian calendar is based on the Birth of Christ... which has never been accurately pinned down to even the proper year (some variance of as much as +/- 7 years)...

So predicting Earth shattering events based on a particular oddity of calendar dating... is as accurate as predicting Tornadoes based on how hard a pickel jar is to open...

In simple..  how u judge ur timing is correct... when u see 11:11 it may be actually 11:10 or 11:12... it never concern about the accuracy of data... its something else.

Also at 11 am, on 11th of Novermber,  Remembrance Day for the Commonwealth and Veteran's Day for the US is observed. To market specifically the time for the movie to be released when everyone is observing a moment of silence at ceremonies is not only going to be a flop, but I find it quite disrespectful.

That being said, this movie looks pretty generic and boring. I probably won't even bring myself to watch when it when inevitably flops and is only shown on the SyFy channel on slow days.

I haven't seen it said that it will be specifically released at 11am or 11:11am, although I haven't read everything there is about this movie. However, I don't see it as a huge issue in conflict to Rememberance Day/Veterans Day. Even if they did release it at a specific time, I assume it would be at 11:11am, which would be after the moment of silence. But typically, the trailers/commercials would be out before then and the movies wouldn't hit theaters until that afternoon. Nov 11 is on a Friday this year, and typically movies are released on Fridays anyhow. I highly doubt even making a special release time would even be benenficial. I just read somewhere that the time was specific within the movie plot.

I agree the movie looks pretty generic and potentially boring. I'll most likely decide to do something else on my birthday and then have to beat off my family with a stick who will think it would be fun to go see this movie.

I don't believe in the mystery myself, as my birthday is 11/11, 11:11am, so you'd think if there was anything to it, I'd have an inkling. However, for the hardcore believers, they can send me alms and worship me (from afar) as their deity.

However, here's a link to the trailer. I've read somewhere that in this movie, a portal is to be opened at 11:11am on 11/11/11, but I can't remember where I read that.

The UK.. - there is a 2 min silience held at 11am on the 11th of Nov every year for rememberance of the fallen of the 1st world war..

And why did the world not end on the 11th of Nov in the year 1111 ?  lol

7 months and 3 days to go..."it's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine".   I expect all of the heavens to open up and all of the people, animals, plants, bacteria, viruses, etc. to become souls living in eternity.
