I've seen it on the Unexplained Mysteries program..Where the reported "Bell shaped" downed alien craft was seen being escorted away on the back of a military lorry under a heavy canvas tarpaulin. It was a very interesting case I must admit...

I remember reading somewhere that something crash landed and was quickly confiscated by the Gov't. They also told the nearby residents to hush up on top of denying anything even crashed.

I tried digging for it online but couldn't find anything good... that, and I jut got lazy laugh.gif

What do you guys think happened?

How often does the military or Gov go and retrieve meteorites?

The Kecksburg object contained sensitive information about Soviet missile

implacements. That's why it received immediate and serious attention. The containment vessel was returning from low earth orbit and it was off target by a long distance. The project was an ongoing one, and they usually retreived

the spy satellite data vessel in the western U.S., along the coast. Most of the time they were able to skyhook it as it drifted down. They would fly up to it, and grab the parachute using a line and hooks.

I guess it utilized a flare system for emergencies. That part makes sense. Having a transponder would not be a good idea.

The whole project got started after Gary Powers' U2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union, in 1960. They decided to spy on the Russians from a higher altitude, using a rocket.

President Clinton signed an executive order declassifying certain older spy satellite data, in 1995. The mission in question was a KH4-A camera system, referred to as satellite Mission 1027. It was recovered on the night of December 9, 1965, the same night that something landed in Pennsylvania.

According to National Archives records its "erratic attitude necessitated recovery after two days of operation. All cameras operated satisfactorily."

You can see some lab photos and some images of air retrieval. Some were recovered in the Pacific, and many were in mid-air. The Kecksburg incident, to this day, remains an enigma for many people.

At that point, they were putting up two recovery capsules, per mission. It just happens that this one mission utilized only one set of cameras. I can imagine the headlines- "Two UFOs land in Kecksburg, PA.!"

I just wonder, has anyone watched the Sco Fi Channel specials hosted by Bryant Gumble as few years back where they send experts into these areas to look for physical evidence of these crashes? I watched a fascinating one on Kecksburg where they actually did find evidence of a large gouge where the craft allegedly crashed. Also they were able to spot the tree the alleged craft sheered the top from as well. It seems to contradict the militaryt stance nothing crashed there.

im not buying it!

I say its a gen-yu-wine alien space ship rofl.gif

Im with you!!! The government LIES too much!!!!! I saw a segment on this on unsolved mysteries..the craft...if thats what it was was alot bigger than the tiny satellite that is posted here...The military came in with a flat bed truck, loaded it up, covered it and took off. The so called craft was estimated at 10-12 feet tall and shaped like an acorn. I dont believe the government...they lie too much...Now what about JFK....the government will have us believe an evrday joe with a $12 Italian rifle shot 3 times from a distance of 300 meters and scored a headshot....strong enought to rip his head apart....more lies!!!!!!

I noticed my imagery has been removed...

I have gone to a lot of effort to confirm my data. Using USAF records, which have some discrepancies, and cross-checking those with photo reconnaissance images, I now believe that the Mission 1027 KH4-A Satellite was possibly orbiting until December 11, 1965. I have acquired 10 images from a dataset recorded as being taken on December 10, 1965.

The Kecksburg incident was on December 9, 1965.

This was not an easy conclusion, and yet it was. For one thing, there were two missions immediately prior to this one, that had similar problems. Perhaps experimenting with retrograde orbit was likely to blame. Another issue is the fact that a recovery capsule landed in Venezuela 15 months before, and that is public record. But that does not mean they would specify a recovery problem within the continental U.S.

One final concern was that the Kecksburg recovery was perhaps of Soviet origin.

Records indicate the Russians had a sophisticated spy-sat operation, as well.

And they had two missions going on, near or about that time. One was a lunar lander, the other a spy-sat. Their spy-sat recovery capsule was spherical. I also find no official records of mission failure, regarding it. But, the Luna 8 Moon probe was deemed, because of a problem during lunar touchdown. The Soviets released dates and some detatils of their mission failures, and none admit that

Pennsylvania was where they landed.

It is also conceivable that BOTH the Russians and the U.S. had self-destruct

mechanisms in case of emergency...

One would have to make assumptions as to whether or not either the Soviets or the U.S are holding something back. Perhaps, we will never know. Recovering a foreign spy-sat capsule would be a great embarrasment. Secrecy turned diplomacy

would mean both sides kept the truth buried, if that indeed happened.

I now concede, Kecksburg falls into the UFO category. But, I will always keep my options open on this one. If eyewitness reports of something ten feet long are correct, then any terrestrial origins to the Kecksburg object are incorrect.

The Kecksburg object had several reported witnesses, who described an acorn shaped object. Here is an image of the Luna-8, which supposedly reached the Moon, but crash landed. It coincides precisely with Kecksburg timeline.

From Tass-

"Lunar soft landing attempt failed. Luna 8's objectives were to test a soft lunar landing system and scientific research. Weighing 1,552 kg (3,422 lbs), the spacecraft was following a trajectory close to the calculated one and the equipment was functioning normally. However, the retrofire was late, and the spacecraft impacted the lunar surface in the Sea of Storms. Tass reported that 'the systems were functioning normally at all stages of the landing except the final touchdown.' The mission did complete the experimental development of the star-orientation system and ground control of radio equipment, flight trajectory, and other instrumentation."

There really are no similarities.

I have found a sketch done by a witness. Charles Hanna drew the image below.

Unfortunately, it opens the possibility of a terrestrial object. Not completely, but, somewhat.

I checked both Russian and U.S. govt. resources, and found little regarding Russian launches, during the exact timeline of December, 1965. I did mention Luna-8, but there were others. Others that are mostly hidden among launch failures, cover-ups, mission changes, etc. Russia launched nearly 2400 various missions, over fourty years, that were later lumped into one heading- Cosmos (any mission resulting in an earth orbit).

Canadian authorities reported that a Soviet satellite mission crashed near Ontario

fourteen hours after the sighting in Kecksburg. Its vector ~could have~ ? taken it over the Pennsylvania area, on December 10. The U.S. govt. has commented on the matter, and they state that the canadian landing (russian craft) was a normal re-entry path- not steep, like they claim the Kecksburg object was. Witnesses describe a plunge to Earth, and one says it was a little 'sideways'. The USG states that Kecksburg was an unusual plunging meteor fireball, which occured prior to the russian satellite re-entry (even I don't believe that).

Could the object that crashed near Ontario, fourteen hours after Kecksburg, have been the payload stage from a satellite object that broke apart? If the lower stage

first fell in Pennsylvania, then 10 revolutions later (at 89 min period, that is 14*60=840; 840/89= 9.4 revolutions...sounds good for quick re-entry, and with heat shields, no problem!), that might work.

Confusing? UFO reports, satellite confirmations, meteor stories, and intelligence

operations both competing and at times, tacitly cooperating (both sides feared interfering with the other, in that it might lead to an international event).

I say I keep my options open...but how to explain it? The russians had been sending missions to Mars, Venus, and the Moon, using very sophisticated systems, for them at that time. Some missions were aborted. It may be that one of the images of a typical russian spacecraft, I show below, is related to this incident.

For example, between October 1960, and July 1965 the russians regularly launched interplanetary probes, intending to reach Mars, or some similar trajectory. There is a hole in the records between July 1965, and March 1969.

The same goes for their Venera, or Venus related probes. They report one mission in 1963, and one in 1964. One made an unplanned re-entry, the other

never made it to parking orbit (they would park, then fire another booster).

Sometimes Venera-Class probes were actually used for Mars missions.

Then, a gap in the records. Nothing, until June of 1967, when they introduced an updated version of the Venera design.

For my money, the Venera-Class design is very close to one eyewitness drawing

of the Kecksburg object. Both versions of the Venera models, used just prior to, and after that time, raise my suspicions. It is possible that an aborted interplanetary mission, which never fully obtained objectives, broke apart, seperating the payload module from the propulsion section. It then reentered over North America, first in Pennsylvania, then the smaller section fell in Canada. What role parachutes played, I do not know. Except that the payload module was equipped, and heat tolerent.

It is also possible that a hybrid model, using Venera heat shield design, was used for photo-reconnaisance. They were loaded with cameras and other instruments, and a parachute, and sometimes a balloon...One might have survived

the impact, especially if it used a parachute. It might have lost the parachute, part way down, because a section of the probe ejected away. The payload unit might have seperated off, given the whole history of mission snafus...Then, the rest of the freefall for the base would have been survivable...IMO.

In addition, I found one, and only one source, regarding a launch date of

one of those so-called russian Cosmos missions, which coincides exactly-

Launch Date and Time: 1965-11-23 at 03:22:00 UTC

Launch Site: Tyuratam (Baikonur), U.S.S.R

Vehicle: Modified SS-6 (Sapwood) with 2nd Generation Upper Stage + Escape Stage

Orbit Earth 1965.327:03:21:00 (23 Nov) until 1965.335:00:00:00 (01 Dec) with a periapsis of 227 km and inclined at 51.9 degrees to the equator.

Then they changed orbit...

Orbit Earth 1965.335:00:00:00 (01 Dec) until 1965.343:00:00:00 (09 Dec) with a periapsis of 209 km and inclined at 51.88 degrees.

It would possibly fit the radar and eyewitness trajectory if it were prograde orbit at that inclination, BUT IN TRUTH I CAN NOT SAY. It is a complex matter, and the easiest records are radar trackings. I can only estimate. And besides, IF the U.S. recovered a sensitive russian satellite, and illegally retained it, would they admit it,

or provide exactly accurate orbital data? I think not...

So, all in all, a possible cover-up, swirling rumors, cold war heros, and I would have to engage in high conjecture. Still, the images are interesting. The dates are interesting. The possibilities are intriguing.

First image - A sketch by Charles Hanna of the object that landed in Kecksburg on Dec. 9, 1965.

Second image- Venera Class Probe of soviet design, just prior to 1965.

Third image- Venera Class Probe of soviet design, just after to 1965

Fourth image- Space related objects that survived freefall. Obviously, they were from first or second stages of rockets, which were never in orbit. Or, the smaller fuel tanks (spherical) were from heat shielded designs. And that's the main message here- heat shielding on russian interplanetary probes!

But, of course, they don't glow in the dark! Could it be they caught a glint from the

setting sun, while at altitude?
