Ok i was wondering if anyone could please assist me.I have been doing a little reserch but can not seem to find any directions to the old abandoned TB. hospital in lima ohio.I have checked out a few web pages and such that show the general area but ive read that it is kinda hard to find.Said something about you have to know the right houseing development to turn into and than go down a dead end road or something to find the path that leads to it.I live in ohio but it is still a 2 hour drive or so to Lima.I dont want to go all that way and not find this old and maybe haunted place. So please if any of you know or can get detailed or even just semi good directions i would b very grateful. :tu:

I too have heard of the abandoned TB hospital, but have been unable to locate it. You might try contacting ohiotrespassers@gmail.com They were supposed to have found it and visited in the summer of 2002.

Be careful if you go, a co-worker's husband said there were used needles all over the place. He works for American Electric Power and had to investigate the place for some reason or another. Anyhow, I hope this helps you on your quest! :tu:

I am interested to know you are from Lima and interested in investigating haunted places.

What I am writing about now is not about your question but your interest in the Paranormal and hauntings.

I live in Toledo, Ohio and I guess you could say I live in a Haunted House and I would like to tell you about what I am talking about.

In the summer of l985 a man I knew died of a sudden Heart attack while out jogging with his mistress whom he had promised not to see again, and he told me from the After life that while they jogged they stopped to argue, and the stress of this argument caused him to have a heart attack, and she thinking her husband would catch her with this man again if she called the paramedics, ran off and left him without medical help.

He lay in a Morgue for about 24 hours before anyone identified him.

He went to the Spirit World very bitter and he met three of my Relatives there who had a few issues with me, and they decided to come back and be mean to me, and on the First Anniversary of the man's death in the Summer of l986 the four of them entered my body as possessing spirits and refuse to get out.

Day and night they do terrible things to me and so far no one will believe me or even offer to help me get rid of them through Exorcism, or any other means.

And so I guess you could say I am haunted, and so is my house because wherever I move they go along in my body.

I must point out I did not move because they forced me to, I just moved because of life's opportunities over the past 20 years that they have been sitting inside my body.

So if you are doing Spirit Investigation, and you would like to try to get some kind of pictures or sounds from my home, and or things that surround me and see if you can pick up any of these things?

Toledo isn't very far from Lima.

Just thought I would mention it.

My E-Mail is Kitty1392@aol.com

Since October 27, 2003 I have been writing about my Experience with the Possession in an aol Journal, hoping this would force the four Spirits to get out of my body, and they would go in Peace, but so far they have refused to leave, and so I am seeking all sorts of means to get them to leave my body, and if someone who does Paranormal Investigating could perhaps verify that they are here it might help.

My Journal is:

I didn't even know there was such a hospital, but I found this site: http://www.forgottenoh.com/LimaTB/limatb.html

This along with the one mentioned by tcgram seem to have the most info.

I presume this is a GREAT place for druggies to hide out and get high and junked up.

Dont worry mr. police when me and my friend go we wont b up to nothing shady. We just love checking out old buildings in are quest for ghosts and proof of the supernatural. We cant get enough of the adreniline rush from checking out such places. But i guess from the way you are talking you will come down on us for being in there hu.Owell guess we will just have to keep it on the lo down while we are exploreing.Just out of curiosity what kind of penalty would there b if you caught us creeping around in there???Please dont tell me a Rodney King beating would occure.Just kidding :D But really please tell what would the penalty b??? :tu:

I would probably just ask you to leave. You could be arrested, but I wouldn't do it since I am back there looking around anyway. Just don't park out on the road, it's too obvious!! :tu:

Hey thats cool man if asked to leave i would gladly do so.Thats good to no we wont get the Lima PD. beat down. :tu: Just kidding but seriously we would b very respectful of the place and not cause a commotion of any kind and if asked to leave we would do so.Thats cool im just glad your not one of those cops that really like to bust peoples balls for just doing a little exploreing and thanks for the tip about not parking on the road. :tu: O yea and we are really careful we dont explore any unsafe crumbling areas

That's good to hear about the needles...maybe my co-worker's husband was mistaken about the location and was thinking about someplace else. Thanks for the info, LPD! :tu:

I was just in there last night after a call about some trespassers. I haven't seen ANY needles, they are either all gone or covered by debris and dirt.

Hey man sounds like your job has had you up to that old hospital more times than you can count hu?Well i was just wondering in all the times you have been up there have you seen, heard,or felt anything strange or supernatural? Not counting the normal vandals and basic criminals of course.

Voices? Intriguing! Could you make out what the voices were saying? Were they the voices of adults or children?

I couldn't make out what was being said. It was several different voices which is why I assumed we had missed the trespassers. Sounded like adults, but couldn't make out what they were saying. Voices were low pitched. Definately wierd.

Yea thats wierd stuff alright.I seen this report on some web page from some fools who went there to get some pictures and stuff and they reported some things kinda simular to what you just talked about. The guy claimed his buddy who is normally very brave during there exploreing kept on complaining about hearing voices and acting very paranoid. He also claims at one point they both went to seperate ends of a long hall to check out a couple of rooms or such.He than says as he was starting to look around in this room he heard a commotion out in the hall and then when he turned to look he saw his buddy going running down the hall for no apparent reason. When he finaaly caught up to his buddy outside he was in the car with all the doors locked. After that he goes on about questioning his buddy. To make a long story short heres what his buddy told him.He claimed he was hearing voices almost the whole time they were there. He than told him that after they split up for a min. in the hallway. he went into a room with some old junk in it to look around and than he heard the voice of a women i dont remember what he claimed the voice was saying butt it was along the lines of what are you doing get out of my room or something or other dont remember .Butt he than told his friend that after hearing the voice he felt an invisable force grab his arm and he felt hot breath on his face.I know sounds kinda hooky and probally just made up.Butt it seems like strange voices comeing from seemingly nowhere are kinda common at this old place.Owell just thought i would share this story about the place with you since you mentioned the voices and sounds you heard that didnt seem to have an owner.

Hi! I have been to the old TB hospital several times and have also conducted some very limited research on its history--simply out of curiosity--and because I had a great aunt who spent a number of years confined there due to tuberculosis.

I once lived in the neighborhood where the old TB hospital is located and first entered through its doors in the early 1980's. During that time, the building was particularily eerie as many items were still intact and/or remained inside. One striking feature was a large mural painted in the children's ward. The painting covered an entire wall and was decorated with cartoon characters painted in bright, bold colors--quite a contrast to the depressing, eerie atmosphere surrounding it.

At that time, such items visible within the walls of the old hospital included bedframes in the rooms, tray tables, x-ray equipment, library books still visible on the shelves, patient documentation, dishes in the kitchen, etc. (Just enough to testify that the facility once opererated and catered to those people confined to the building for treatment of tuberculosis in the early 1900s and later as a facility for the Ottawa Valley Center). Oh, and there was, at the time a "caretaker" if you will, that lived in the cafeteria/kitchen area--but that's a long story and I won't go into it here.

As I was employed as a police officer at the time, I was permitted access to the building for a second and third time in the early to mid 1990's. At that time it was evident that vandals/neighborhood kids had broken into the building and destroyed and stolen those items that had remained intact on my earlier visit. (Windows had been broken out, graffitti decorated the walls, etc). My husband and I (also a police officer) video taped our trip through the old TB hosptial in 1994. It was on a fall evening, just as it was getting dark outside and the experience was quite eerie just because the building is large and we weren't sure what we would find as we moved through the darkened hallways!!!!

I still have the video tape of our journey through the building, but I have not been back to

the hospital in a number of years. (Hey LPD, maybe you can help me out and get me back in one last time--I'm dying to do a second pictorial!!)

There was a time when the kids used the facility as a paintball gallery, and of course it's still a "party" place that teens like to sneak off and visit. I would say however, judging from my last trip through its interior, that the stucture is definitely a safety hazard for anyone that dares to enter at this point. Oh, and as far as hypodermic needles/syringes--we saw none.

Hope this information helps those of you who are curious!!

I almost forgot--I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere on this site, but here's a link to pics of the interior and exterior of the TB hospital.

This is not the same link that was listed above in this forum. It contains some really good quality pictures, but sadly they were taken long after the building had been thoroughly ransacked.

I visited the TB hospital about four to five years ago with some friends just because of the things we heard. Nobody is suppose to go back there. It was creepy. The hospital is located in Shawnee. To get there, turn left at the light at Spencerville Road (a liquor store is on the corner and a funeral home diagonal from that). Go all the way down. There is a road blocked off and the hospital is at the end in a wooded area.

It is tricky to get there. Be careful when going up the steps. There wasn't a lot of needles that I had noticed, but there was a lot of tire particles on the ground and very, very dark. We didn't go in the basement, I have heard that people were locked up down there and that you can hear their cries. There were also those things that go around people's heads hanging on the wall, (like a strap of some sort) but I don't know what they are called. Pretty scary. Good luck on your quest.

Based on random info we received, a couple friends & I tried to find out where it was today. We weren't even intent on exploring it. We were just trying to find it! All the people in the residential area were shady. One lady drove by us really slow. We were sure someone was going to call the cops on us. Afterall, it was the middle of the day. Our problem: there are 2 dead ends. Which one do we go in? There's one at the very end of Arcadia which has a few rocks piled & a NO TRESSPASSING sign laying on top. PLUS, there is Gordon Blvd... which is a very narrow road that goes back into trees & is cut off by a locked red gate. Of course the people who lived right next to it were pulling in their driveway as we got out of the car, so we got back in & backed out. We did, however, walk back by the other part by Arcadia. We took a right & kept walking but didn't see anything but what looked like BP dump. After awhile we ran out of path. Perhaps the weeds grew over the rest of it. Maybe we didn't walk back far enough? We were paranoid anyway. We kinda parked in someone's yard to get back there.

I just had a question for the lima police officer. I have been back ther quite a few times just to look around, my husband is afraid to go because he dosent want to get arrested. I f we arent doing any damage, just looking around will there be any problems or would you just let us go? We just go to look, I think its so sad how people have messed that place up, it would have made a neat historical sight.
