A familiar?

Okay - as some of you know I found this site via another site that I was unhappy with. They got a lot of good stuff from me! It's mine so I am now sharing it with you!

Well my friend and I went to a witches shop just to see what it was like. I bought a book on how to read tarot cards and a celtic cross or something. Anyway my other friend then proceeds to tell me how her friend is Wiccan and though I am not interested in changing religions I am interested cause thats my sort of thing. So I don't know if I have been influenced by her stories or what..I keep seeing something I feel is a black cat out of the corner of my right eye it is always walking away from me and has looked back a few times. but I never see it for long...and I just completely seeing things or what is the deal? my friend thinks it is a familiar but i don't consider myself a witch...any advice?

Okay well I figured out what this was - it took a good deal of time though. The shadow was a warning type thing - my cat ended up dying! I don't really know what to call it - but the same thing happend before my grandma died.....I saw a human shadow always out of the corner of my eye - never got a clear look at it - but after she passed - it disappeared.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

It's called a doppleganger. It's a ghost that looks like the person, and they generally come to warn you about that person's death.

Or...it could have been a cat I heard when you see one, it doesn't nesicarily have to be a ghost.

Ohhh I didn't know that - are they like common I mean - other people see them? I'm not nuts?!

I don't know, I read about them in a book years ago. They usually come to warn people, but sometimes they just appear at random.

I am unfamiliar with 'familiars' Could be just someone warning you in advance and because you are not tuned in you are unable to understand. Or it could just be pure coincidence and a trick of the light or your eyes.

Here is a brief description of Doppelgangers not sure how much I believe this to be true but anyway...

It is said to be bad luck if it is seen, and rarely a doppelganger will make itself visible to friends or family, often causing great confusion. Doppelgangers can be mischievous and malicious.

sounds a tad bit freaky to me...but animals dont have ghosts i thought, so if they're supposedly supposed to be ghosts that look like the person (or pet in your case) that would mean the black cat was a ghost. how's that possible?
