"Traditional British social divisions of upper, middle and working class seem out of date in the 21st Century, no longer reflecting modern occupations or lifestyles.
The BBC teamed up with sociologists from leading universities to analyse the modern British class system. They surveyed more than 161,000 people and came up with a new model made up of seven groups. To find out where you fit in use this calculator below."

My Result:
Emergent service worker

LOL this is terrible but I expected some kind of tally in regards to number of times the family tree has been strengthened by its own branch. Here we call them hill billies there they call them royalty ... No? Just glad Kate made it into the fray to diversify the lineage a bit... OK I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. It was there just waiting to be said. You know you all secretly giggled inside...

I'm a New Affluent Worker, if I lived in the UK, that is. However, I don't work at all and I'm not new, I'm old. Thing is, if I took this test ten years ago I'd be classified differently.

I am the lowest of the low due to me not working at the moment because of redundancy.

Nothing like being written off, lol

Seems to me that eventually the entire world will polarize into two classes; those that have a lot of money and those who don't. The so-called middle class appears to be an endangered species, an abberation of the 20th century.

No seriously.. It's not that close though.

It really made me laugh how the media made her out to be some public school poor girl, when she went to a private school and her family is well off. She went to the same school as Jack Whitehall and his parents are multi millionaires. lol

Also an emergent service worker!

Re: Kate Middleton, I did read somewhere that it may not have been such a coincidence that she went to the same university as William. Scheming mother and all that. Probably manure though.

They made a thing about how she was related (distantly, though that wasn't really emphasised) to coal miners, when the rest of her family were all lawyers and the like! Pathetic. To her, coal will be the thing the servants put on the fire when she gets a little chilly.

I'd say it's already like that but no-one has told 'the middle-classes' yet.  lol

The whole thing is ridiculous anyway.  Anyone hard up like me can't afford to go theatres or opera's, socialise in expensive places.

I'd rather not say... If going to Museums, having an interest in History, having a certain income after tax Tax, and the people you socialise with puts you in a Certain "Class" then it totally ignores You as a person. "Class" (stupid Label anyway) is whether you look down or up to certain Socio - Economic groups. I neither look Up or Down on any group, couldn't care less where a person lives or earns, but whether that person is a "Good" person.

I consider myself "Classless"

My result. But there was a problem. There was a question "do you visit stately home", surely it should be "do you live in stately home" then I could have given correct answer and be rated as higher than elite :D

There's no evidence of that, I'm afraid.

(While I was checking that though, I discovered that Kate's great-grandfather Charlie Goldsmith, served in the same regiment (Royal Fusiliers) as my grandfather during WWI. Since my forebear was a Lieutenant, and Charlie described as a 'mechanic' and therefore most likely serving in the ranks, it amuses me to think that perhaps gramps might have ordered the ancestor of a Queen of England to get a haircut!)
