Glorybebe, on a more serious note, if you don't think this is too graphic for your daughter, here's another one (personally I think it ought to be mandatory for all beginning drivers to watch):

Is that for real, AsteroidX? Did that really happen? If so, I'm very sorry...I thought maybe you were joking...

Thank you, I will wait a bit to show her that one.  It is very nice of you to post it, we all need to be aware of this problem.

I wouldnt joke about something like that Gunmug. I may have stretched the texter bit but he did have a flipphone. Luckily our good friend only took a hit in the neck next to her jug and could ID the schmuck.

The thought of these tragic events happening to us or someone in a matter of seconds is terrifying. I won't lie and say I've never done this before it's happened to me in a parking lot was driving around got a text and checked it quickly, next thing I was heading into a curb, could have been worse but it did give me a scare.

Never will I do this again though.

I'm sorry AsteroidX, I wasn't thinking. That was horrible...I'm glad the friend was OK. Almost makes me hope he gets the death penalty.

So true.
I hope that ads like this will stop and make people think.  In BC it is illegal to be talking on the cell (holding it up to your ear) while driving.  One day I was waiting to cross a crosswalk, and a woman yeilded at a stop sign-big no,no- and was on the cell phone.  At another stop sign was a police officer....she got pulled over.  What blew me away was that she was laughing that she got caught!  Attitudes like that don't encourage change,.

People using the phone while driving has become one of my ultimate pet peeves. I think it's an incredibly stupid, self-centered, and impatient thing to do.

Here it is illegal to drive while on the phone, texting included. But have seen many people with the phone to their ear, which I can not understand as there are handsfree.

Just another point, not only is it unsafe to have the phone on your crotch/lap while driving, but for men it has been proven to be very harmful and  that you should not have your phone any where near your meat and 2 veg area anyway.
In an ideal World a law would be passed were NO guns were allowed and all those out there destroyed, trouble is the law makers are not going to take a risk of trying to pass that without making sure they are armed first.

First teach the kids not to be too reliant or dependent on the the tech gadgets. Or the cyber world, they're thinking of a plugged in reality that everything depends on tech and puters, without which they believe they or their lives don't mean a thing. Remind them of the world we really live in. The world around us.
Then showing them scary videos of devastating automobile accidents would mean something.
It's a same old same old tactic that had been used for a long time, it is rarely successful.
Let tell you from experience, among late teens and the young, the most dangerous drivers are those auto accident "survivors". They have a 'video game' mentality, they just push the "start" button.

And that scared the Hell out of me!  People need to spend more time talking to their kids and actually doing things with them, rather than sitting them in front of the tv and letting that raise them.
