Computer generated characters almost indistinguishable from real people are currently in development.

Wow, even if this is used in game cutscenes in adds a whole new level of realism. On the other hand I feel sorry for the folks having to model, texture and animate at this level. Must be painstaking!

One of the biggest issues animation has always had is that it is too perfect, too smooth.

It's the imperfections that make it so much more realistic.

Get's a little creepy when they go through the different facial expressions! But this is very cool.

I foresee that these CG models will soon be assigned human rights and ethics on interacting with them. One day, deleting a CG model who has advanced AI will be akin to real murder!

Aye, all we need now is advanced AI (which, with conventional computing, looks to be further away than us populating Mars).

The eyes still look a little creepy to me. That 'smile' is pretty weird, too. This might pass for the face of a mentally disturbed person, instead of a computer animation. Still well inside 'uncanny valley' from my perspective.

Very impressive!
I guess a point-in-time will be where we have even less faith in the validity of Bigfoot or ET UFO/alien vids.

While it looks amazing, it's still obviously not human. The way it moves and its mouth need to be improved.

I dunno; I suspect it is a human and this is a little test.  At any rate except for the teeth (that look like implants but lots of real people have them) I doubt anyone would question it if they didn't know in advance.

Awesome. Now we can replace Nicholas Cage with a CGI representation.
