Can You Identify This 90s(?) Sitcom?

QUESTION: WHAT BAD 90s SITCOM WAS THIS? GHOST MOM...

Hey everybody, this is an obscure, possible "fun" question about an old BAD sitcom. Even without the "twist" later, the whole thing was just bad and unfunny and so forgettable.I can't tell you anything else about it other than that below. It seems like I saw what were probably reruns late at night used as a filler, I'd never seen it before this.

Who remembers at all, and especially the name of or at least any actors in, and old US sitcom, either late 90s or early to mid 90s I think? A family of husband and wife and I think two kids, and eventually the mom dies and becomes a ghost (I presume that was the shark jumping moment and the last season, as I can't imagine that was the original idea)?

The woman is a shorter, red or dark haired sarcastic woman, not skinny, like a cross between Roseanne Barr and Katey Segal, and it was a little risque sometimes kinda like Married with Children, but it had more a feel of Small Wonder for some reason.

There was an episode where a hot new lady teacher or something was in it and even the mom character (that dies later) was blathering about how hot she was.

It was a SITCOM, with bad jokes and canned laughter and "Oooooh!" audence reactions. It's not Jennifer Slept Here or So Haunt Me, or the older Ghost of Mrs. Muir. Like I said, the mom died, seemingly like their version of adding a baby to a fading sitcom to make it popular again, but instead of adding Little Joey, they killed the mom and made her a wise-cracking ghost. The show got even worse. I don't think the ghost angle was originally the idea, as I'm almost certain I saw a number of episodes of typical bad sitcom quality - I think they were running out of ideas and some genius went "Let's kill the mom!".

I don't know, I was just thinking of bad sitcoms and I can't find anything on it. Its not Jennifer Slept Here or Ghost/Mrs Muir sitcome or anything. Definiely late 80s or 90s or possibly 2000s but I don't think it was that late.Anyone? Thanks for reading!

My cousin came back with that too.

SITCOM

Still, I appreciate you looking. I'd rather if people actually remember it, say something. I can do Google Search too but I'm not finding it.

Yeah, I noticed the SITCOM, I did watch a clip of that show on YouTube and at least that clip what sort of SITCOMish, very cheesy. I'm not finding anything in Google either. I don't have any memory of a show like that, hopefully someone here does and they can post it.

Nailed it, Hugh! Unhappily Ever After! And I was right, although the title seems to indicate it WAS about a dead wife, that was a coinicidence apparently. Awesome work, Hugh, thanks so much!

Your kung fu is the best. I'm really surprised I couldn't find that, I usually do really good but that absolutely was a brick wall for me. Glad I could keep you in practice.

You got some good googling skills man, I tried looking for ages and got nothing. What search terms did you use that finally got you there?

Thanks! I've found that putting various similar phrases in quotes is a big helper in finding things exactly how you want to find them.

Without the quotes one ends up with a ton of results, and it takes a long time to go through them all.

If there are no results for a certain quoted group of words, you can take one or more words out of the quotes at a time and do a search in between each time.

Another helper I've found is to do an image search of the same phrases, which sometimes brings up things that are easier to find by a quick visual scan, then you click on the image to see where it came from.

When I first learned of the ability to do various types of searches based on the headers at the top of the google page a whole new world opened up!

Images, news, videos, scholarly articles etc all became various ways of finding info, instead of just the "Web."

Another thing that's great is you can use the "search tools" which include by time, which is great when looking for the latest news about something.
