Commander CMG Posted April 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2013 More than 600 people are interested in buying rundown homes in Stoke-on-Trent for £1 each, the city council has said.Thirty-five derelict homes, mainly two-bedroom terraced properties, will initially be sold off in the Cobridge area, with a further 89 to follow. Under the £3m project, the local authority is offering loans of up to £30,000 to help complete essential repairs on the houses. Potential buyers have until 12 May to apply for one. Moon Gazer Posted April 23, 2013 #14 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Is where you live anything like Stoke on Trent? They houses are the good looking part of it! Haha, well no, I live in Leeds. But, it says the people must have lived in the area for a number of years, so it's people already living there that will be buying. So they already live in that kind of area so it probably seems like a wonderful idea. I'm absolutely certainly that Leeds City Council would not do the same kind of thing here I'm sorry to say.
