Infernal Gnu Posted March 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 30, 2016 I'm absolutely convinced that an A.I. android of this type could one day be laughing and smiling in an otherwise very enchanting way while its vise-like grip on my throat tightens until my windpipe is crushed. My eyes bulging as I make gurgling sounds with my tongue hanging out.

barbco196 Posted March 30, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 30, 2016 That is the creepiest thing I have ever seen. I have to agree. What are we thinking?! Once they become self-aware, say goodbye to humans as we now know them. Welcome to the future.
Eldorado Posted March 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) I'd marry that one. More chance of understanding how her mind works than any real woman, I reckon. Edited March 30, 2016 by Eldorado
Drayven Posted March 30, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Robots are most definetly going to be more powerful than humans, one day. I, honestly, don't like robots. They are sometimes creepy wired things. Of course, robots would be able to kill a human once they become aware of that kind of stuff one day... Hear this one! And it is much harder to break a robot (kill it so it doesn't work anymore) than a robot killing a human... Which is very creepy.... Very creepy... Robin_Shadowes Posted March 30, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Kurzweil is probably getting both a nerdgasm and an orgasm at the same time.
Dark_Grey Posted March 30, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Steadily and deliberately designing a "species" to replace ours...the irony can't be lost on anyone. I imagine who or whatever digs up our records in the distant future will also have a dark chuckle at a our expense. Ya know, assuming humour is part of its programming. Sundew Posted March 30, 2016 #16 Share Posted March 30, 2016 While this all may seem like pure science fiction, the problem with science fiction is many times it eventually becomes science fact. And in this case that's a problem you don't want.
barbco196 Posted March 30, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Something to think about: WE are them. We are nothing more than avatars in our 'future' selves game of life....b*******!

LV-426 Posted March 31, 2016 #19 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I'd marry that one. More chance of understanding how her mind works than any real woman, I reckon. The on/off switch would be handy too... Lilly Posted March 31, 2016 #20 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I'd marry that one. More chance of understanding how her mind works than any real woman, I reckon. Nah...there are plenty of women who will tell you exactly what's on their mind and how/why they think the way they do. Oh, you might not *like* it very much (you probably won't). On second thought: Congratulations, hope you and Ms Android have a lovely marriage.
Pjjr Posted March 31, 2016 #21 Share Posted March 31, 2016 Combine this guys robotics technology with Boston Dynamics and the robotics teams in Korea/Japan,and these things would probably be off and running into mainstream even quicker! Facinating and scary, especially when you factor in the human equation!
paperdyer Posted March 31, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I think the SyFy channel had something about this a year or two ago. It was creepy then and isn't getting any less creepy. Maybe the Russian that wants to live forever in a robot body is really backing the project.

Hartmut Posted April 3, 2016 #24 Share Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) Humanlike ? ? ? How anyone can compare that, that 'thing' to Audrey Hepburn is beyond me! Gee - Just look at her weird eyes, her ugly wrinkled neck and her jerky head movements. Go back to the drawing board - quickly !
