Ants fire acid to ward off predators

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

The incredible moment a colony of woodland ants fired acid into the air has been captured on camera by wildlife photographer, Paul Quagliana.

Used as a defence mechanism to ward off potential predators, the ants gather and emit the substance when sensing a threat overhead.

That's cool. I never realized ants did that. Course I never really read up much on ants either.
