Still Waters Posted May 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2013 Witches flying broomsticks in Swaziland above 150 metres will be subject to arrest and a hefty fine of R500 000, civil aviation authorities said, according to a report. Witches’ broomsticks are considered similar to any heavier-than-air transportation device that is airborne, reports The Star. “A witch on a broomstick should not fly above the [150-metre] limit,” Civil Aviation Authority marketing and corporate affairs director Sabelo Dlamini told the newspaper. No penalties exist for witches flying below 150 metres. http://www.timeslive...wn-in-swaziland

I heard about a witch, from the other day, got fined because one of the running lights on his broom was out. That wasn't you, Darkwind, was it?

Good idea, will start a new religion, but not sure if we need to be worshipping the god of the vacuum cleaner or push for a 150metre limit on it? please advise before I finish writing the book/ bibbly. shrooma Posted May 15, 2013 #24 Share Posted May 15, 2013 Witches don't ride their brooms. They're used to symbolically sweep the magical circle. . they might be in todays made-up version of witchcraft, but the myth of the witches broomstick stems from the practice of taking hemlock, which gives you the sensation of flying. the broomstick part? well, lets just say that hemlock is poisonous if ingested, but not if made into a poultice and applied... um.... 'internally', so the broomhandle was supposedly smeared in the poultice, and as this is an open-age forum, i'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.....
