Now I hate spam, but when you have a section of the forum titled "Auctions, Trades & Exchanges: Trading of paranormal related items" you really should not be surprised when someone occasionally tries to sell their stuff there.

You might want to think about changing the title, or at the very least posting a sticky at the top of this part of the forum that explains that this section is not intended to be used for commercial purposes. I know that this is covered in the FAQ, but when someone sees the "trades" forum they might think such activities are permitted there. This would reduce the potential for confusion and make the spam policy unambiguous.

We've never really had a problem with people spamming that section, anyone who intends to use the forum to spam usually does it in the General Off-Topic board because it's the busiest place.

The Auctions board is intended for the exchange of paranormal related items, and thats what people use it for, in particular to post details of unusual eBay auctions. If we do start to have a problem in that area then measures will be taken to prevent it, but as it is I don't there's any need to do very much.

I'll add a line in the rules area on that board, that should help prevent any misunderstandings regarding the purpose of that section.
