Spaced...

I know it’s been mentioned a few times here, but I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

Spaced was written and staring Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson, and also stared Nick Frost. I believe it was aired about 97/98, and according to the website when they pitched the idea to LWT they said it was a cross between The Simpsons, The X-Files and Northern Exposure.

I admit I never saw it when it came out, or had even heard of it until my housemate bought the complete series 1 & 2 box set before Christmas, and has since got us all hooked on its quirky characters and brilliantly written script.

Of course since then, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg wrote and directed the successful British rom/zom/com Shaun of the dead, and if you liked that you should definitely check out spaced.
