Am I being haunted?

Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new.

Basically, over about three weeks, I feel as if I'm being haunted. Several things have happened and they seem to be getting more severe.

The first thing that happened was that our cleaner, Anna, had just spent a few hours cleaning the upstairs. My mum had been complaining to me that I need to get my door fixed as it kept on opening by itself every time my mum closed it. I came upstairs to check on my room, and the door was open, and the room cleaned. Everyone came downstairs and the cleaner left. A few minutes later my mum went back upstairs and shouted down to me, 'Sophie.. Have you seen your room?'

'Yes, I told Anna thank you.'

She shouted that that wasn't what she was talking about. I came upstairs to find my room completely trashed. My bed was upside down, my laundry all over the room, my posters and white board on the floor, even my lizard's tanks were turned over. My mum and I were really scared so we went to the summer house while my dad checked the house for any intruders, he didn't find anything. My mum and her family all believe in ghosts and claim to have seen them all throughout their life, as their dad did, if that's even relevant. Anyway, my parents put it down to my brother playing hide and seek with his friend and wanting to find a spot in room, but didn't want to get into trouble.

There were a lot of strange noises in the house from then on, but nothing very scary.

Next, I was looking for my cat. My mum and I were walking around the second floor and spotted something moving under my brother's bed covers. We walked into the room and could see a figure very clearly under the sheets. I reached over but before I could grab it, my mum screamed. I turned around and saw our cat sitting behind us. We looked back to the bed and the moving had stopped, but there was a pile of sheets where there had been movement. We have no other pets that walk freely around our house (Apart from our tegu, who was in his vivarium at the time). We never found out what it was, and my dad thought we were seeing things.

Again, more noises, not much different.

A few days later my mum and I were lying on her bed, reading. My cat was on her windowsill behind the curtains. My cat is a very calm cat, as hard as it is to believe, he has never purposely scratched or bitten us in the four years we've had him. He never hisses, not even at other cats. So we were lying on the bed, note that we are on the third floor of our house, and hear a knock knock knock. We had been talking about ghosts that night and just froze. It was coming from the window. Again, knock knock. Suddenly, my cat started hissing wildly. He panicked and grabbed the curtain, ripping it from the pole which held it up. He fell off the window and went crazy, hissing, spitting and jumping around. For a minute I thought he was another cat that had gotten through the window, it was so unlike him. He stormed out of the room and hid under my bed. When we looked, there was nothing outside or near the window.

A few hours ago, I was sitting on my bed on my laptop, when I heard my cat crying. I hadn't seen him all day, so I jumped up and opened the door. He suddenly bolted from my brother's room, straight into the bathroom. He is terrified of the bathroom ever since we bathed him after he fell in a pond. His fur was stood up, he was spitting at my brother's room, he was standing to his side to make himself bigger and his ears were pinned to his head. I stood in the hall looking at him and something didn't feel right. It was bitterly cold and I felt as if someone was watching me, as if that if I moved a single inch, something would happen. I found the courage to move and tried to calm the cat, he was trying to dig his way out of the bathroom window. I called my mum upstairs and we went to my brother's room. We turned on the light switch and the bulb suddenly blew. It was dark, but the hall light provided light. His room looked like a bomb site. His bunk bed was turned over onto its side, his computer on the floor, toys everywhere, notes and laundry spread over the floor. He swore he hadn't done it, but my dad didn't believe him.

My mum was haunted at one point, and she really believes she was. Her three sisters and brother also believe she was. She believes she saw her brother waving and kissing her goodbye while she was on her way to the hospital to him, where he died. My granddad swore he was pulled back out of the way from a huge cart filled with coal in the mines by an angel and that he heard the cries of a dead girl along the tunnel he worked in. My nan worked as a nurse and also claims she's seen many ghosts. My auntie uses Ouija boards from time to time and thinks that they attract ghosts.

Am I overreacting? Am I being haunted? Has this happened to anyone before? How do I stop it? I'm freaking out right now. I need this to stop before it gets worse.

There is one more, rather disturbing thing. My cat is a house cat who has a large run in the garden that he cannot escape from. The only other animals we have are reptiles (One tegu roams around the house, but would never do this). Our cat came into the kitchen one day and looked awful. If you have a cat or a dog, you can tell just by looking at them if something is wrong. His fur was ruffed up and he looked really bad. I picked him up and felt him around his body, to see where his pain was. I felt his shoulder and warm blood ran down my finger. We took him straight to the vet to see what was wrong. They told us he had been bitten, several times, all over his body, however I had only seen one bite. We decided to take our tegu with us, so that the doctor could examine his mouth and determine if it was Monty (The tegu) who had bitten Simba (Our cat). The vet told us Monty had definitely not bitten Simba, as the teeth marks in his skin were all wrong. He took my dad to one side and spoke to him, then we went home. When we got him, my dad said that the vet thought the bites looked very much like human bites. They kept Simba overnight for three nights before we were allowed to take him home. The RSPCA also had to come and speak with us before we could have him back. We managed to convince them that we'd never do such a thing along with the vet's (My father's friend) help.

My dad still doesn't believe that we're being haunted, but my mum is convinced and I'm starting to become convinced. Help?

Reading over this, just let me clarify. Simon (Our vet) said that the bites resembled human teeth marks, however a cast or whatever was never taken, so that's why we got Simba back and weren't charged. It could just be a coincidence and some kind of animal (I live in the countryside, pretty much middle of nowhere) attacked him. I don't know, but I thought it was worth adding.

Intriguing and no doubt disturbing accounts you have there.

Do you know much regarding the history of the property? Past ownership, uses of the building, history of the grounds and surrounding area etc. It is always helpful in determining possible sources or reasons tying the building to the activity.

Has there ever been paranormal phenomena there before? Even slight and coming under 'weird/odd' as opposed to scary?

Animals are forever reported to be acutely aware of spirits and entities not picked up by the human senses often and it is interesting that it is usually a sedate creature.

Did you hear anything from upstairs when the room was apparently trashed? I don't think it was your brother and to not hear anything from the mess as it was in progress would be bizarre!

If the rooms are as you say they were, that would be very powerful activity and paranormal investigation groups would be very interested in visiting. Pictures would have been fascinating but I can understand why one wouldn't consider taking photos of such a disturbing invasion.

Crisis apparitions are commonly reported to be seen before or at the moment a person dies and usually appears to someone dear to them as a goodbye, my own father had his father appear to him and he never believed in spirits, very awe inspiring stories.

That's absolutely horrendous regarding the cat, it probably is determined to protect you from this nasty spirit, has anything gone on recently that may have triggered emotional disturbance? Sometimes negative emotions can manifest/attract things and they feed on fear and disruption. Other times changes to the property can incite anger on people with ties to a place but this seems extreme. A few things being thrown or doors being slammed would usually be a result of this.

It is YOUR home and you are entitled to peace and comfort, as long as you show as little fear as you can and keep a white and loving light around you, this thing will see that you aren't allowing it to remain. Other folks here will have good advice if you linger around I am sure.

Blimey I really feel for you as it sounds not a very nice few experiences, especially poor Simba! Any of these experiences on their own and I would be saying much more likely to be a non-paranormal explanation. But add it all up and it all seems very strange and hard to find plausable explanations for them.

Are you and your family religious at all? When I had some weird going ons at a place once I was about to involve a medium from a local Spiritualist church who was going to come around and see if they could pick up on anything. I ended up moving so I never did it. But just wondered if you could try something the same?

Did you get a video camera? They tend to stop all kinds of paranormal activity immediately.

Like suggested take a video. I think animals can sense or see things most of us can't. I would find out the history of that house and the property. Something could of happened there even before the house was built. Try not to show fear, I'm no expert but sometimes I think these things feed on it.

Animals see things that we often do not notice, especially cats. Read the specialist literature and do some research on the topic, examine history of your home, if you need help I recommend an exorcist who have helped me, and I had a similar case. In my the things moved themselves and the cat raged for no reason. Ms. Wanda Pratnicka celebrate exorcisms for two months, but with a positive result.

Hi i have been exp. some ghosts or spirits just yesterday around 11 i heard my name called 3 times in a row. but my girlfriend didnt hear it btw we were upstairs 2nd floor. i asked my 2nd mom if she heard anything she said no she was on the 1st floor. About an hour afterwards our fat phillapa. Shes a good cat gets along with dogs and cats if she knows them wont bother them or hiss. we have 2 of them here. But she loves the bathroom to sleep but we been shutting the door to keep her out then around 12:15-12:20 she gotten up and bared her teeth towards the bathroom. I raised her since a kitten and shes about a year old. She just looked and looked and gave a dirty look. She hopped down and avoided the bathroom ever since. She wouldnt walk over by it or look at it anymore. Never bathed her in that bathtub. Also my gfs tv has been flickering like it'll show the picture one min, then out of no where it goes to shutting off to back on. After it was done i checked the tv it was fine. Plug all the way in nothing i could guess why that happened bec she lost the remote long ago and it was programmed with a different remote. No one else had the codes for it to program it. So we been watching for strange things to acure to happen so we let it go and moved on. Well later that night i was in bed txting my gf from my computer and something was wrong. I could feel it. My cat was in the room also my computer bag fell like slid down from a side of a small table it was prop. against i wasnt around it neither the cat. After that happened she gotten up to investigate what just happened so she gotten up off the bed on the floor. now this is the weird part but before hand reread over this part ( she gotten up to investigate what just happened so she gotten up off the bed on the floor). I felt something on the bed like pressure my gf wasnt w me at the time but pressure at the bottom of the bed n she wasnt in the room bec we have sep, rooms and this pressure was by my feet i texted her baby help me in all caps w a ! but the me spelled to mean multiple times. after i keep deleting the an and i swore i enter me but when i reread it..it said mean omg what should i do n this pressure still there. my cat looking at me like fool get **** up now and move. but i was to afraid to but it didnt touch me but rather stood there. Why would it do that? but i exp things like this before at my old house before i moved out w my gf i was hug...touched...how ever you wanna put it by a ghost. it rubbed my chest and arms and hugged me didnt hurt me. Why? did it need something i had. i always helped everyone i could by even goin out of my own way. Now my gf now is exp things could this ghost be mad at her bec we are dating? or to be in a relationship. what should we do. and also not sure if this helps but i witnessed a BLACK CANDLE ceremony. i heard never to light a black candle but my mom (not my gfs) did the ceremony thing w some friends and it gave numbers and almost spelled a named but i dont remember but i remember a number 23 but the sad part is that is her house number i never taken to it untill now after i thought bout it. also my mom has been haunted ghosts also. What should i do i know not to try and give them fear. and show this is ur house but i dont wanna make it mad and try to hurt us or anyone. in need of answers please help asap. *SNIP*

Interesting how this is supposedly happening to your family but you ask if "you" are being haunted and infer this is somehow about you. Sometimes people tell stories like this to get attention but that's not you, right?

HI can anyone help me with whats goin on. bec i think im being actually haunted. bec my mom was also and in my moms house before i moved out i was touched (not in a sexual way) and hugged. so i moved out into my gfs house about a month ago and all this has been happening to be my cat either getting pinned down or being thrown a couple feet. to somekind of pressure on my bed at the bottom of my feet. or it trys to scare my gf by banging on stuff. and has also spoken my name 3 times in a row. and has also made a knocking noise bout 5-7 times in a row but real quick. and no one in the room n the neighbors would be asleep by 12 bec they have work and they are married and all so they wouldnt knock on the wall at 12:30 at night for the hell of it or make a loud banging noise 5-7 times and my cat has been acting weird also. after my cat was attacked for the 2nd time we seen a red tint in her eyes like we never seen before bec before she had all green alittle brown and her pupils black but we didnt find any bite marks or blood on her just alittle tint to eyes then a hour later they went to normal and we havent been bugged or attacked or anything ever since then. if this happens again what should we do????

I have exp. either pressure on by my feet or my gf being harassed like hearing banging noises and our cat also as i explained up there^ but i have a bad feeling this thing may come back as it did when i was 14 it first all started. i used to hear more things. like just the littlest thing id hear it or i could see more in the dark and then my radio would act up and stop and then i was touched as i explained up there. now its her tv now and then but nothing new besides my cat being harassed now. and usually around this time something would happen to me.like i used to tell myself it was all in my head. bec no one wouldnt believe me so i kept to myself bout it n it only gotten worse till i seeked help. just like now. but before i tried to communicate with it. and nothing happened but when something would happen it felt different. like a lighter aura would appear around the room to be like warm. then i thought is something here bec it was winter n really cold then gotten all warm n my mom didnt have oil at the time. but is it seeking help? if so what should i do? should i get a wigi board would that help me find my answers? or lighting a certain candle? desperate for answers..... :cry:

no i dont think shopie ran away....i was doin some research on her profile look at the time stamps...why would oshe start something like this and then reply and keep it goin then after a hour later then stop not another word from her. No other posts or pics nothing but why would she start sorry im new not sure if this is the right forum then start telling her story im being honest to god right hand to the bible that i was touched by a ghost...spirit...entity how ever you wanna say so it to be something is not right just today me and my gf was playing a game upstairs and her dad lefted. mom in her room upstairs. one dog downstairs. moms dog w her. cat in my room. now the other dog was downstairs alone. shes usually a quiet dog who dont barks not unless someone she dont know is either goin towards the fence or by the house. now remember shes the only one down there a quiet dog. well she starts barking like crazy when we came down she was looking out the window like someone was there no one wasnt there she went towards the other window in a hurry no one there. we have neighbors who would come home by the fence n she wont bark. so i went out to check if someone was messin with us i grabbed a knife (in case) went outside towards the backyard a small yard it is. i checked no one. came in my gf asked if there was anything. no nothing. then we started looking for the cat to see if she was the problem no she wasnt the problem bec she started comin down the steps to see what was goin on. then all a sudden the dog wanted out so we let her out and she scoped the yard saw nothing came back in. also not sure if this helps one day me and my gf gotten a thermal camera on our phone we were sitting there in my room in the dark. we turned it on n right above my head maybe a inch or 2 away was a small blue sphere. everything else hot we took pics of it in different thermal views and it still showed but the room didnt feel cold the walls actually was pretty warm but in one spot it was blue. so anyone who dont believe me ill upload them once i figure out how but i will

Hmmm, I don't think the 'thermal' camera you are using is a proper thermal camera. You said your 'gf' (girl friend I guess?) got it on her phone? So did you download software to make the camera on her phone into thermal? It would not upgrade the camera to have a thermal sensor so I don;t see how it could possibly work. Also are you on drugs or medication or supposed to be on medication to help manage any mental health issues? I ask because some of them can cause disturbances to peoples vision and perception which some people may misinterpretation as paranormal activity. No need to answer the part about illness or medication if you don;t want to.

Well unless it is an actual physical add on for the phone with a Thermal chip etc then all you have downloaded is a trick, it changes color of things to it appear your phone is picking up on temperature. It is not picking up thermal so disregard any information from that for the time being.

Also, if English is your native language can you take a bit more time with your spelling and punctuation, there is software that can help like Microsoft Office, or even some free ones if you look about. It is very hard to understand what information you are trying to give us due to such bad grammar.

Please can you explain the 'pressure on your feet' in more detail.

well im sorry how i talk or write im from shamokin its the way i grown up from it. Well about the feet problem it was like a weight. Ok think about it like this, Your laying on your bed and someone would stand on the bed a by your feet and the blankets were more tight around your feet feeling. But it was like a 10 pound weight on it just like someone was there and just stood there i have exp anything like that at all recently. But like it's worse now ever since that has happened. About two days ago i was downstairs in the kitchen alone and washing dishes and i heard a footstep behind me i turn around nothing there. But my cat on a counter behind me towards my left side. Just today we exp. more walking noises my gf told me she felt pressure on her arms while laying in bed. Same thing happened towards my mom. Could it feel threatened towards women whom are in my life and hold on close to?

as for the pressure, , since it happens in bed I'd guess dreams? You've told them your experiences, and they have dreams about them and they get afraid and believe it's real.

As for your cat, well....cat's are weird they do goofy things sometimes.
