whats with the loch ness monster?

all these years ive wanted to know if the loch ness is real, if noone know why dont we send probes down there? just to check for these supposed holes to the ocean that it hides in, and oh i found a loophole in the theory that there are holes in the loch ness monsters lake, that they reach the ocean, isnt the lake freshwater, the ocean is sal****er and so it would mix wouldnt it?

It is not something that anyone would get a grant for because despit popular myth, there it is biologically not possible for a large air breathing animal to live there and leave no physical evidence of its existance, there is also not the food for such a large animal. It could also not exist as a single animal so it would mean that there would have to be a few of them, being obligate air breathes and supposedly mobile on land, they would also give birth on land because live birth at sea is undesirable for an air breathing animal as it increases the risk of mortality for a young animal. It is also likely that most of what people thought was a monster was just seals that visit the loch and most people are not good at identifying animals, hence people have complained about Sealions running around in North Wales coast when the nearest wild sealion is in California and most people not realising that there are actually sharks in the Europe and not knowing the great white is not a tropical but a cold water species.

The Loch actually was "sonar" probed by a fleet of small boats. According to the findings apparantly they found nothing. But from what I know of sonar it would tend to make a sea creature flee, so perhaps it has a cave of sorts to hide in.

For an air breather? An underwater cave would not be good. It would also have to sensitive to such accoustics, that is not likely as only cetaceans and a few of there prey species are, most marine life is not.

It is simply just not possible for there to be a monster in loch ness, the largest animal it can sustain are 1.5m long seals.

lots of expeditions have been made and nothing came out of it, I doubt there´s such a creature there, there is no food, no visibilitu underwater, just some tourists and old people that think they saw it, I´m more interested in something that could be real like big foot than this creature

If it is in fact a Pleisiosaur or Elasmosaur don't you think that after 65 million years it would have evolved? Perhaps with the ice age they were forced to adapt to the frozen waters.

Also, it's a popular theory that the creatures migrate like whales and quite possibly use the loch, and other nearby areas, to breed and move on.

To the OP,

Money. Anyone who has the money to pull off such an extensive search of such a large area isn't interested in doing so. So we're stuck with half-arsed attempts by jaded/lazy/biased scientists with only a few grand to get by with.

Exactly. Sightings have been going on for centuries and it's almost always described as grey-skinned, flippers, long-neck etc. Though back in the 1500's it was exaggerated upon and thought to be a dragon.

No witnesses are highly unreliable and can easily misidentify.

It is just not possible for something to be there. There is no evidence, no remains, nothing. It is merely a myth.
