As the nation marks the one-year anniversary of President Barack Obama's inauguration, a majority of likely voters believe the nation is on the wrong track (54 percent), a new Zogby Internactive survey finds.

Included among that 54 percent are nearly all Republicans (91 percent), a majority of Independents (61percent) and one-in-five Democrats (18 percent).

Only 13 percent of likely voters say President Obama has done better than they expected, including just 27 percent of Democrats. Forty percent of respondents believe the President has done worse than they expected while 45 percent say his performance has been near to what was expected.

With the nation still in the midst of a recession, the economy clearly overshadows all other issues. Asked to name an issue where President Obama could have made better progress, a plurality of likely voters (37 percent) cited jobs and the economy, the top such issue cited among Democrats, Republicans and Independents.

Respondents were also asked to name one issue where they have been surprised by the amount of progress made during the President's first year in office. For one-in-four likely voters (25 percent) that issue is healthcare reform, followed by the war in Afghanistan (8 percent) and foreign policy in general (7 percent).

Zogby International conducted an online survey of 1,963 likely voters conducted nationally between December 15-18, 2010. A sampling of Zogby International's online panel, which is representative of the adult population of the US, was invited to participate. Slight weights were added by region, party, age, race, religion, gender, education to more accurately reflect the population. The margin of error is +/- 2.3 percentage points. Margins of error are higher in sub-groups.

He is on the wrong track. Wanted hi to do the opposite that Bush did, instead he's doing the exact same while expecting the senate and house 'pubs to go along with him because he wants everyone to be happy sparkly working together.

We wanted them to go a scoshe more left from the center and instead they bowed and caved to Lieberman and went towards the right. WHICH IS NOT WHAT WE WANTED!
