You're talking about the Higgs boson experiment. Those are concluded for now, pending results from the analysis (due out in December). The LHC will do thousands of other experiments requested from all over the world during it's lifetime. At the end of its life cycle, they will crank it up and push it over its limits and do some very interesting very high energy experiments. If something weird can happen, it's more likely it'll happen then.
