Vymaanika-Shaastra = Science Of Aeroautics? Yantra Sarvasva = All About Machines?

These books that were created and translated in modern times from ancient Indue., What do they mean? And what are they actually talking about building? Does it have any truth to it or were people writing in detail on how to make a flying machine that they decided to invent a whole book on making ariel crafts?

Were the ancients really flying around in ancient crafts? Or is it something entirely different? And why in the world would one choose to write such a topic on the creations and hide it so that its information would not be destroyed or lost?

Also, what are with the assumption that Vimanas run on a mercury vortex engines, if in reality they did have such crafts?

Who know!?

Or has suggestions!?

Give it a go! thumbsup.gif

The descriptions on how to prepare the pilots clothes indicate that they are being made waterproof

The description on what to feed the pilots doesn't cover what they eat during the summer months, therefore whatever they are being ritually prepared to do the rest of the year would indicate that they are doing this activity during the summer.

the descripton on how to prepare the metals is also indicative that they are being prepared for a holy use.

the description of enemy vessels is a list of houses of the zodiac

the evil wind could be literally anything but i'm thinking the kind of wind you get at sea

"The sootra indicates that there are different types of planes"

Planes/aerial craft/spaceships/ships

I think its fairly obvious that this deals with an activity thats as old as man itself

That activity is whaling

The whole thing is about purifying the ships and their construction and waterproofing the pilots clothes and protecting them from the elements

The early harappans and later the vedic societies of india regarded whales as manifestations of god, accoring to their flood myth Manu the flood survivor was saved from the deluge by god incarnated as a whale. Therefore to kill a whale without being purified in the eyes of god is seen as blasphemous.

and these guys are the past masters at covering everything they do before god in ritual

lets have a look at the god in question

user posted image

well theres a surpirse he's holding a trident

heres a brief explanation as to the use of tridents in whaling

tridents thesedays are banned under international law because they are inhumane

a trident will never kill a whale it doesnt penetrate deeply enough to be fatal. it injures the whale instead.

Injured whales drown, they are mammals, as they are highly intelligent mammals an injured whale will beach itself to stop from drowning (this is a fact)

in an age when your boats are insufficient to pull a whale aboard the only thing to do is go out in a boat, stab them a few times and then retire to the beach and wait for dinner to come to you. Its why many gods wield the trident, in a time when your crops failing meant widespread famine and starvation you go to the best source of food available. That provided by god for that specific purpose

I will say that as this wasn't translated into english until well into the 20th century (1952) whoever originally translated it had quite an imagination.

But then So did Hg wells when he wrote war of the worlds about 50 years earlier(1898)

personally i'd like to believe that this is going on about aircraft, but at the time it was written the Indians were barely in the iron age.

The story of this book is as follows: sometime in the period just before World War I, a Brahman named Pandit Subbaraya Sastry began to dictate previously unknown texts in Sanskrit which purported to contain ancient Indian technological knowledge. He in turn, credited a Vedic sage named Maharshi Bharadwaja, as well as other Rishis who appear in legitimate Hindu texts.

If you are looking for an ancient manuscript on this fascinating topic, you'll need to keep on looking. The Vymanika Shastra was first committed to writing between 1918 and 1923, and nobody is claiming that it came from some mysterious antique manuscript. The fact is, there are no manuscripts of this text prior to 1918, and nobody is claiming that there are. So on one level, this is not a hoax. You just have to buy into the assumption that 'channeling' works.

I'm not sure thats actually true Andy,

the fact that the manuscript that it was claimed to have been translated from hasn't surfaced could just as well be because it has "how to hunt whales" as a title

the guy that brought this to the worlds attention was a notorious Indian nationalist, He may just have added a few modern details and translated the rest to make it fit in

in the same way that most ancient texts translations are open to interpretation

The pukku and mekku from gilgamesh for instance, when it was first translated pekku meant "stick" and mekku meant "thing that is beaten".

so they naturally assumed it was a drum.

its a bit odd that enkidu and gilgamesh would spend some considerable time beating on a drum for no apparent purpose when he had the royal orchestra at his beck and call

just recently it was discovered that pekku meant "stick" and mekku meant "ball",

so in fact they were playing a game similar to the mesoamerican tribes the night before he went to the underworld. This game was used in sumeria to hone reflexes and build strength in troops.

I still see him sitting herbal ciggarette hanging out the corner of his mouth, playing the bongos though

In India Andy channeling is not only popular butit is also widely believed

Saying this was channeled is like giving it a stamp of spiritual approval

if the original text is missing then thats what i'd say

and besides, don't you recognise this froma different source which we both know wasn't channeled

This isn't quite an ancient mystery, but exactly how many holes are there in Blackburn, Lancashire? And, do they indeed refer to one-twentieth of a pothole for every Blackburn resident? rofl.gif
