DO YOU DARE? Version 2.0

My original thread idea:

Do You Dare? Version 1.0

died not too long ago. I wanted to try something similiar. Please let me explain.

My original "Do You Dare?" went like this:

I hope the Moderators allow this as a thread.  I suppose it should go under "Alternative Universes", but I am going to try it out anyway.

Physicists call this a "Thought Experiment".  It is a little like

"Schroedinger's Cat", for those who are familiar with it.

RULE # 1.  No quotes allowed from any scripture, whether tanach, bhagavad gita, n.t., for example; nothing.

RULE # 2. No quotes from science unless more or less "proven".

Example of forbidden:  Evolution.

Example of accepted:  DNA.

I want to keep the same rules, along with the big red zonk for violators, including if I myself get stupid and do it, and of course, anyone can zonk anyone else. Please try to give a big green zonk to those who creatively follow the rules.

New premises, similiar to the old ones:

PREMISE #1. There is, or is not, a Deity, according to your real personal beliefs.

PREMISE #2. Spirits (souls or whatever) do, or do not, exist, according to your real personal beliefs.

PREMISE #3. Angels (messengers, healers, etc.) do, or do not, exist, according to your real personal beliefs.

Please try to avoid the usual flaming and arguments, as I am sure the mods will pop in as usual, since this is their site, not mine. This is, of course, assuming that they let me get away with this. I am adding one additional rule.

RULE # 3. At the end of your post, calmly state your belief system, i.e., Wiccan, Pagan, Atheist, Agnostic, Theist, Deist, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Islam, Mormon, etc., or, please state that this is only your personal belief. Remember, no scripture or speculative science. Only hard science, logic, and imagination.

The last time, we, IMHO, came up with some really cool ideas.

Do you dare?

I hope so. I'm getting bored with all the bickering on the other threads.

One last thing: If you can do it, following the rules, please explain whatever else you can, such as the trinity, hell, heaven, reincarnation, transubstantiation, ghosts, demons, monotheism, polytheism, etc.

I thought long and hard about how to answer this one. I thought first I'd look at the nature of man, and then move naturally on to the nature of God and how the two relate inseparably with one another. I will deal with souls and angels in another post at a later date if i may thumbsup.gif

Nature of Man:

Humanity is based on relationships. It is the nature of man to form communities. When multiple human's gather, inevitably, structures are in place which guide the community mentality. These communities are then broken down into smaller family units. When two people unite in marriage, they in a sense become one soul (I don't mean literally, but rather that they aren't really complete without the other; if that makes sense at all grin2.gif). When one arrives in a new community, it is usual to make friends, join groups of like-minded individuals. Mankind is defined by its relationships with one another and with the world around us.

This can be explained as simple survival instincts (safety in numbers), but to me, this does not explain the need for complex inter-relational forces such as love, friendship etc.

Nature of God:

Assuming God created us, it is natural to believe that God is also a God of relationships. Relationships with what though? Were we created to be in relationship with God? That seems likely being as we are geared towards relationships. However, there seems there should be more. God needs relationship too. Therefore, there must be other beings which can be classified God as well in order for God to manifest this relationship within Himself. Furthermore, this relationship has to be in the form of a close-knit unit in order to work properly. Some form of family unit, or ideally a group with one goal, mind and purpose.

Conclusion:

We are a species of relationships because God is a God of relationships. In all ineractions we make, we impact on those relationships around is. A multiple God belief structure is inherent in such a belief.

Personally, you all know I am Christian and believe in the God of the Bible. This multiple God of which I speak is of course the trinity (I know - I'm bordering on a red zonk, but there is no logical way to express 3-in-1. Sorry)

All the best,

Edit - I don't expect a green ZONK for this answer either. It is too generic an answer to gain such. As mentioned earlier, perhaps I'll think outside the box (of course, I'd probably deviate from what I truly believe, which goes against the rules of the thread, right?

Gideon I imagined myself to have a miracle 12 years ago ( iwas a angry atheist at the time deprogramming from the catholic religion) I had a change of perspective in the form of a voice of divine origin, I don't have a belief system that fits any label I base my beleif system on my personal experiences, I pray they are answered and I know prayer works, etc. etc. I think there is good in every religion something worth trying out, I don't except others ideas valid until i myself have found them to be for the greater good of all of us, i believe in Oneness, not seperation, Deism. which is at the cellular level we are all connected, I dion't know if this is what you want Namaste Sheri
