Haven't heard much argument on this and I thought I'd like a little input from UM! I totally think Spider-Man was far better since The Green Goblin rocked! w00t.gif

Personally I like number 2 better, there was more action and the storyline was brilliant!

haha what a useless poll.

But, i go with number 2. It's brilliant, and while the first one is also amazing, the action and everything is just better in 2.

They were both good but I think Spidey 2 is better because there is better action and the story is better.

Dafoe was great as Norman Osborne/The Green Goblin although I didn't like his Power Ranger style suit.

Molina was great as Otto Octavius/Doc Ock as well although I didn't neccasarily like that Ock became a good guy at the end. I mean he's suppose to be a mad, evil, egotistical, cunning villain not a guy controlled by atrificial intelligent arms who when they stop controlling him is good again. But I guess it wasn't that big a deal, it was still a good film.

I know the title of the 3rd film...

Spider-Man: The Return of the Burning Building wink2.giftongue.gif

Seriously though, I do know some news about Spider-Man 3.

Sony Pictures has made a seven-figure deal for Alvin Sargent to write Spider-Man 3, with an option to write the fourth movie as well, reports Variety. He has already begun work on the third film, which has a tentative release date of May 4, 2007.

The trade says Sargent is widely credited with whipping a problematic Spider-Man 2 script into shape, but he has evolved into the voice of the franchise.

Sargent got sole screen credit on the sequel but also did uncredited rewrite work on the first film, which was penned by David Koepp.

Sargent was brought on to polish the original film by his wife, Laura Ziskin, who produces the "Spider-Man" films with Marvel's Avi Arad. Koepp took a crack at writing the first draft of the sequel, followed by Smallville creators and scripting team Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and then author Michael Chabon. Sargent then was brought back and wound up with sole script credit.

The studio has not yet disclosed the storyline or villain for Spider-Man 3, but the story has already been crafted by Sargent along with director Sam Raimi and his brother, Ivan Raimi.

'with an option to write a fourth movie as well' - awesome! This is definately good news because there were rumours that the franchise would stop at number 3 so if that sounds as though they are planning on going beyond a 3rd which is good.

Also, Raimi has said in the past that he doesn't want to do any of the symbiotes (Venom/Carnage) on screen and it has been rumoured that the 3rd film will be Raimi's last, even though has said he loves the franchise and would love to stay with it. So it's possible that if there will be a 4th film and Raimi leaves to do other things (Raimi is writing the screen play for a remake of his cult hit The Evil Dead which doesn't have a director yet, so he might direct that) and another director comes in, we might get to see Venom on screen, which would be totally awesome.

I suppose you mean Spiderman with Tobey Macguire (or however its spelt) and not the one made in the 80's with no actors of any decent standard.... However that matters not, as these 2 are as far above that quality as a 8 year old is above a presidential reading level...

2 was better, however the characters were created and introduced well in one, so 2 had only half the work to do.

I also liked the 2nd one better. There was just so much stuff that happens, it was action packed.... SO GOOD.

Not to say the first one doesn't totally rock, but I hate watching it because when Peter's uncle dies I get all teary myself. crying.gif

Blonde girl? You mean Ursula, the landlords daughter? I don't think she will have any important parts to play in the movies. She obviously has a crush on Peter but she's just there to progress the story really... To show him that people do care about him and stuff. I don't think she was ever included in the comics, but I haven't been reading since they were first created so I wouldn't know.

Nobody knows for certain who the next villain will be except for Rami, Sargant and the studio who aren't giving anything away yet.

Although it would be a safe bet to say that it would be Harry Osborne as Green Goblin 2, given the ending of Spidey 2. We can also see that Raimi has sculpted this thing into a Goblin saga. It starts with a Goblin and it will end with a Goblin(The end of Raimis trilogy, not the franchise, as Spidey 3 may be Raimi's last Spidey film). However, I think that because the Green Goblin was in the first they may change continuity and make Harry the Hobgoblin so that non-comic fans won't feel as though they are re-hashing stuff.

We may find that it isn't GG2 though. Back before Spidey 2 came everyone was thinking that this would be, atleast, a 6 picture franchise and they were discussing which villains would be best for each movie. And quite a lot of people wanted GG2 to appear in the last movie, possibly with a Sinister Six scenario where all the villains fro meach film return to get Spidey. Then when there were rumours that the studio wanted this to be a trilogy franchise, it kind of became obvious that GG2 would be the main villain for the 3rd film. But now it seems the studio are planning on a 4th, we may find that Raimi leaves GG2 for a later movie and just have Harry struggling with his 'destiny' until then but it's probably a safe bet that GG2 will be the villain because I think Raimi would prefer to finish the Goblin saga himself than have someone else finish it in a later movie.

There have also been rumours that Spidey 3 will be a 2 villain film. The first villain been GG2 and the second, not so main villain, been The Lizard. The Lizard is Doc Connors (Pete's teacher) who looses one of his arms. He is also a famous genecist and tries an experiment, involving the regenerative abilities of a Lizard, to re-grow his arm back and it works but it also has a side effect that makes him turn into a Lizard.

You're not alone Girty; I personally liked #1 better.

My cousin said somthing about it being Venom. So maybe it will be? hmm.gif

OMG yes!! I loved the lizard. I had a computer game called "Spiderman Cartoon Maker", and I would make sooooo many stupid films about him. laugh.gif

It would be cool if it was Venom, I mean, just imagine the aerial battles that could be done but I don't think it will be.

Raimi has said that he doesn't want to bring the symbiotes to the screen so while he's the director it most likely won't happen, unless he does a 180 or the studio makes him.

In the comics Venom's origin is where Spidey is forced to take part in an aliens war game and his suit is ruined so he finds a machine that he thinks will create any suit you want but he got the machines mixed up and instead he is given a blob of black liquid. This liquid forms a suit that also seem to enhance his strength, have it's own webbing and can take on the form of any clothing he wants but he also finds out that it is alive and a symbiote, feeding on his adrenaline. In the 90's cartoon though Venom's origin was changed so that the symbiote was brought to earth on a spaceship piloted by John Jameson that crashed. So a lot of people seem to think that because John Jameson was in Spidey 2 that Venom will be in Spidey 3.

It's very probable that if Venom was introduced to the movies that his origin would be changed, maybe to somethign similar to the 90's cartoon or maybe to the Ultimate Universe's Venom, where he is a medical experiment gone wrong. Either way though, like I said it's doubtful we'll see him while Raimi is directing.

I liked the original better. I always like the first more. Now, if it were the video game, number 2 was waaaaaay better.

On Spidey 3:

It's obvious they're gonna make Harry the next villian, but I can't remember in the comic if he became the same Green Goblin or if he's the Hobgoblin... But it's gonna be Harry.

Hey, who knows guys! Harry could keep a low profile and aid the villain (whoever they may be) in Spider-Man 3 while hatching a devious plot himself! thumbsup.gif I really hope they put The Chameleon and Kraven the Hunter in as a duo since they are brothers after all! Yet I wouldn't want them until about the fifth installment. Oh, and on a passing note another good villain I think would be Electro. (lots of flashy effects for that bad @$$) thumbsup.gif

I thought Doc Ock was the better villian, but I like #1 better as a film. The 2nd was just a little too Dawson Creek-y for it to top the 1st. I really enjoy both, just prefer the first. Especially when PP was just coming into his powers.

My vote for the 3rd villian would be Venom in a heartbeat! He's just absolutely sinister looking.

i like both of them really, but what really irks me is that in the comic, spidermans webbing is fake. parker invented the little web gadget for the suit. but in the movie it was "natural" disgust.gif there are parts in the comic where he runs out of webbing fluid, usually when hes getting chased by venom or some other villian.

it just made the story more real. sure you have the aliens, mad scientests and all the other sci-fi stuff that makes it a story, something that you would only dream of. but then its just the little things that make it more close to home.

Yeah that's one of the good things about Spider-Man. He isn't invincible. He's just a normal guy, no special fight training or anything who gains powers and uses them to help people.

And having fake webbing would have been best because in the comics he would always run out at the worst mement like whilst fighting a villain or swinging away or something and it just made him more real and normal and added to the story more.

Yeah. I mean Harry will have to come to terms of what happened at the end of Spidey 2 regarding him and Pete so he'll be confused and stuff so he might keep a low profile until he figures it out.

Or he might aid the villain. For example The Scorpion. In the comics, the Scorpion was the first anti-spider villain. (Then Venom came along and stole his thunder) Like in the wild a spider's natural predator is a scorpion and JJJ wanted to expose or get rid of Spidey so he paid for a down on his luck private eye called Mac Gargan to undergo an experiment to give him the powers of a scorpion. However, in the movie I don't think JJJ is that far gone in his issues with Spidey and I don't think he would do something like that so maybe it could be Harry who pays this guy to become the Scorpion.

Other cool villains I would like to see include Electro, Scorpion, Sandman, Shocker, The Spot and Rhino (Imagine just fading into a busy but peaceful street then suddenly a car goes flying past the camera and as it pans across we see Rhino causing wanton destruction, that would be sweet)

Chameleon and Kraven might make good villains. Chameleon is more of a sort of intelligent, cunning villain rather than a fight him to the death type of guy and Kraven can be animalistic so they would actually make a good team. I dunno who would play Chameleon but I know the perfect guy from Kraven... Oded Fehr (Adeth Bay in the Mummy movies)

I'm pretty sure we'll have the hob-Goblin or whatever goblin 2 in Spidey 2. I mean, come on, there's no other way to take the next movie, given the ending of the last!

I didn't really like both, but I thought that the first one was better.

The second one for me, was a let down. I didn't really like the ending.

I pick....

The last one: "They both sucked" thumbdown.gif

i think it'll either gg2 as harry or the lizard. could be a duo (then i don;t know). venom probably won't ever hit the screeens with spidey. but it is a good idea. bring in venom from the space ship from the moon already told in the second one. have spidey beat venom and then the sequel HERE COMES CARNAGE. devil.gif

but it won't happen. plus i hear venom might just come out with his own movie. but with out spidey doesn't make any sense. dontgetit.gif
