What countries are you talking about?  Where did the raw material  ( mince meat ) came from?   I am talking about the source as to where - England, Ireland, France etc got their mince meat directly from where?

This is what we get when they employ them in those departments! Sorry ENGLISH only should be working in the immigration and border control departments. How many more have we not caught or do not hear about?

  It beats me how they employ these people,I had to pass a strict medical, and you had to have English competency Certificates Ie "A" level. or a high G.C.E pass ,(Mandatory), also the Maths entrance exam was at least G.C.E. "A" standard,just to get into the Civil Service,apart from specialised work like Customs/Immigration where you were "vetted" by very Senior Officers,then you went for an intense training course,I guess they must have lowered the standards since my entrance year.As long as you know 2 words in English when you arrive,you are immediately accepted,those words are" National Assistance."

No we eat other animals, cows, pigs and lamb. Oh our "civilized" people buy a lot of meat from abroad with out checking whats in it first!

In France horse meat is on the supermarket shelves life beef is on ours (turns out it is horse not beef, but never mind that for a sec) .

I see the MP`s are trying to scare monger us about eating horse meat? why?
So far no one has had mad horse disease.

Horses many years ago were working horses, that has changed on the farms...many years ago... when tractors and farm machinery came along, horses today are mainly used for recreation riding and horse racing. So in the countries where horse meat is eaten, the " working" horse scenario is no longer relevant.
So horses there now are not filled with tranquillizers etc, they are bred for eating, just like we breed cows, pigs and lambs.

They are probably looking at us right now and saying "how can you be fine about eating cows, pigs and lamb and yet not horse?"

Korea eat dogs. Peru eat guinea pigs and other countries around the world have their other animals for eating purposes.
I do not really like the idea of eating horse, but get a grip people, is it really that "odd" today?

  Squid...Is like chewing salty rubber. Barracuda ok but very boney. Limpets chewy but edible, Seal very fatty and tastes fishy, Bacon butties YUMMY. I dont think I've had Horse....Neigh Neigh Whinney !!!..was that me ?...

You neigh had horse meat? Oh I bet you have, you must have bought meat from one of the main supermarkets before? lol

I have to agree with the bacon butties though. I do like my bacon. Could never become a muslim if they paid me a million pounds.

I wonder what nasties were in my Fingus Shepherd's pie....

It describes itself as " savoury minced beef with onions in a rich gravy topped with seasonal mashed potato".
That loosely translates as savoury minced horsemeat with shallots in a rich gravy with seasonal horse nettle tubers.

I'm not joking but there's something bothering me about the current size of potatoes.
With there being a thousand species in the potato and tomato genus Solanum they could have used a substitute.
Who's say that as well as the meat the vegetables are not what they are cracked up to be.
Though I don't think that would raise any concerns with me but some of the fruits in the genus are poisonous.
It dosn't really matter how sun ripened they are.
Apart from the trade and descriptions act anybody would think we are eating bread with mould in.
Though it's not the eating that's the issue with me but it feels like a betrayal of their usefulness as beasts of burden.
Did anybody know that they used ponies in pits and had them carrying buckets of coal.
Well that's one job that our equine friends won't be doing any more.

This may account for the amount of people getting cancer. People in th past would die because of lack of hygiene and that we did not have the medications and surgical know hows of today, but cancer? how many did die of cancer back then to now? I often wonder what we are actually eating......or rather, what they are giving us to try?
